He’s back down in class after proving no match for Kabral Du Mathan when last seen and is up in distance. I think he’s very well treated off a mark of 127, so he’s the standout choice to me.

ANNUAL INVICTUS (NAP) has to shoulder a big weight, but he brings a touch of class into this race and could be set to make a bold bid off a favourable mark in this easier task than he’s used to.

The 10-year-old is 3lb lower than when second in last year’s Bet365 Gold Cup, where he split two high-class horses in the shape of Minella Cocooner and Nick Rockett.

That is a serious piece of form, while he ran really well for a long way when midfield in last month’s Coral Gold Cup after a layoff.

This is easier, so with that outing under his belt, which seemed to be used as a prep-run, Chris Gordon’s talented individual, who claimed last year’s Great Yorkshire (stronger event), looks a really good bet.
