Tip 1 - DEDICATED HERO - 1.5pt WIN

Best odds of 7/4 available at Unibet while publishing.

DEDICATED HERO (NAP) split two very nice horses when second on chase debut at Ayr last time out and is worth another go at this distance. This seven-year-old is a Grade 2 winner over hurdles and must be well treated off a mark of 123. I think he’s ready to open his account in this sphere.

Tip 2 - ENERGUMENE - 1 POINT WIN

Best odds of 10/1 at BetVictor while publishing.

With the ground soft, surely the odds about dual Champion Chase winner ENERGUMENE is wildly overpriced.

He isn’t the force he once was but he still retains some of his ability and bolted up on his only previous course start, which came at this fixture, albeit five years ago.

He’s danced every dance at the highest level and it’s interesting to see him fitted with cheekpieces for the first time. If he gets into a rhythm, I can see the veteran running a blinder.

Tip 3 - ILE ATLANTIQUE - 0.5 POINTS EACH-WAY

Best odds of 13/2 at William Hill while publishing.

ILE ATLANTIQUE is a smart chaser at his best when looks like an interesting runner in handicap company after finishing second to Heart Wood on New Year’s Day. He was sent off second favourite to Majborough in the Irish Arkle at this meeting last year but underperformed in fifth.

He is evidently better than that and will appreciate the soft conditions. This Grade 2 winning chaser should be suited to the services of Danny Mullins and looks a key player for his in-form handler. With four places widely on offer; I think he’s going to run a big race.

Tip 4 - INIS OIRR - 0.5 POINTS EACH-WAY

Best odds of 11/1 at Betfred while publishing.

INIS OIRR has a patchy profile but he’s become so well handicapped and it’s worth remembering how easily he won this race two years ago off a mark of 119. He bolted up by 21 lengths and finds himself 8lb lower in the handicap with no weight on his back.

He unseated his rider in this race last year when sent off as the favourite, so in my opinion, I think he’s an appealing proposition at the odds. Given he’s proven himself in this event, and knowing he’s been targeted at it again, he cannot be taken lightly despite recent efforts.
