Tip 1: SHANNON ROYALE - 0.5 POINTS EACH-WAY

Best odds of 9/1 at William Hill while publishing.

SHANNON ROYALE looks very well-handicapped off a mark of 135 on British debut. The seven-year-old had a touch of class about him, especially when you reflect on his close-up second to Dancing City at Punchestown last December.

He then beat the 149-rated High Class Hero over the same C&D, so just on that form, this figure is well within his compass. He has performed well on both starts this term, and connections have appointed Sean Bowen to take the reins. I really like his credentials.

Tip 2: GLENGOULY - 1 POINT WIN

Best odds of 4/1 at bet365 while publishing.

A very smart chaser when formerly trained by Willie Mullins, GLENGOULY roared back to form when taking the December Gold Cup over C&D 19 days ago with a bit up his sleeve, and this looks like a slightly easier event.

He’s up in the handicap, but remains nicely treated based on last year’s form, particularly his second in last year’s Thyestes. Under another attacking Sean Bowen ride, the rejuvenated 10-year-old can prove that his latest win is no fluke.
