The three most backed horses at Goodwood Festival day one

DEVIOUS COMPANY won the first two starts of his career at Haydock in June before running very well to finish second behind Master Of The Seas at Newmarket earlier this month. The two-year-old is being well supported behind the current favourite Battleground. He will only improve for his latest effort and looks a very exciting horse for Tom Dascombe. 

SPACE BLUES has won on both his starts this season, most recently at Longchamp in Group 3 company. This 7f trip is perfect for the four-year-old. He has won four times and come second twice in his six starts over the distance. Charlie Appleby is in good form at the moment and Space Blues is being duly backed to make easy work of this Qatar Lennox Stakes field. 

STRADIVARIUS may be on a slight drift this morning, but oddschecker users are keeping the faith with the superstar stayer. He arrives here off the back of a stunning third Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, still performing at the very top of his game. He is bidding for an incredible fourth Goodwood Cup. He faces a strong challenge from Irish Derby winner Santiago, however, plenty think he will be up to the task.
