Racing Lee identifies six premium selections ahead of Dublin Racing Festival Day 2.
12:40 Leopardstown
Tip 1 - SHODA - 1pt WIN
Best odds of 6/1 at William Hill while publishing.
Having already put up Adrienne for this race ante-post, I wanted a second bullet, as SHODA looks interesting with Sean Bowen booked to come across for the ride.
Her seasonal debut over hurdles saw her run into one over two miles here in the shape of, Ballyfad, who runs in the Grade 1.
The runner-up has bolted in since, and it was a fair return to action.
She was sent off favourite when a mistake cost her a winning cost last time out, and she ended up third, but with the right form horses finishing ahead of her.
She could be ready to show plenty more now handicapping.
2:10 Leopardstown
Tip 2 - MAJBOROUGH - 1pt WIN
Best odds of 9/4 at Betway while publishing.
He’s not the cleanest of jumpers, but last time out his jumping held up.
He was third, but somewhat unlucky having been the meat in the sandwich, and not having the late toe of Solness and Marine Nationale.
He looked like he should have been at minimum closer, if not winning.
On this ground, which he won a Triumph Hurdle on similar, he should be staying on strongly, and hopefully exact his revenge.
2:45 Leopardstown
Tip 3 - BUACHAILLBOCHT - 1pt WIN
Best odds of 11/1 at Betfred while publishing.
KINTURK KALANISI - 1pt WIN
Best odds of 7/1 at Unibet while publishing.
Last time out seen BUACHAILLBOCHT sent off favourite for a 28 runner ultra-competitive handicap at Christmas on this track.
The race has worked out extremely well, with Now Is The Hour winning the Thyestes, and the winner going on to win the Cross Country race at Cheltenham on Trials Day.
Form on testing conditions, and highly tried in multiple big races/fields, means the race looks like it will suit very well, and granted some luck can be a player.
KINTURK KALANISI ran in the race mentioned with winners flowing from
It, that was a reappearance run and handles softer ground well.
Has good chase form with horses that have franked the form well, and was travelling well even when unseating, suggesting there is more in the tank.
1:10 Leopardstown
Tip 4: FINAL DEMAND. (1:10 Leopardstown)
LOSSIEMOUTH (3:20 Leopardstown)
2pt DOUBLE at best odds of 13/8 with Ladbrokes
Final Demand won the Grade 1 Faugheen Novice Chase with ease over Christmas, and can follow up here before going onto the Brown Advisory at the Cheltenham Festival.
Arguably this maybe his best trip.
We will double him up at the prices with Lossiemouth in the feature race of the day.
Plenty think Brighterdaysahead will turn the form around from their last meeting, but, I fancy Lossiemouth to uphold the form.
Her main market rival closed her all the way to the line, and having needed the run put up a solid display.
But I think she was flattered by the margin.
I think Lossiemouth always held her and had more in the tank, and her jockey knew that.
It will be close, and throw in Anzadam and the others, it’s a fascinating clash.
But, it’s Lossiemouth for me!
And, a Grade 1 double for Willie Mullins.
3:20 Leopardstown
3:52 Leopardstown
Tip 5 - MURCIA - 0.5pt EW (5 places)
Best odds of 8/1 at 888sport while publishing.
Murica, the choice of Paul Townend, is a Grade 1 winning mare at Aintree’a Grand National meeting last year.
She beat a fair field that day, before running fourth to Lulamba and Poniros in another Grade 1 at the Punchestown Festival.
She was as third on reappearance to Talk The Talk, who was going to win a Grade 1 but for unseating at the last over Christmas.
She has weight to burden, but has the class to show in this first time handicap.
4:27 Leopardstown
Tip 6 - BROSNA SHINE - 1pt WIN
Best odds of 4/1 at William Hill while publishing.
If showing any more improvement then we may be quids in.
Third at the Punchestown Festival to Wonderful Everyday (re-opposes), she turned in a good effort to beat another who locks horns once more in, Araminta.
That day she had to give two pound, plus an extra two pound claimed from the jockey, means now off levels there is a four pound swing in the selections favour, even though she beat her fair and square.
Wonderful Everyday flopped last time out, but we know the trainer does so well in these races, so expect a bold show nonetheless.
But, I’m taken with BROSNA SHINE.
