Sam's picked tips for every race on the second day at Royal Ascot.
13:15 Royal Ascot
After a shocking opening day, hopefully we can knock in a winner early doors. I’ve picked two at nice prices for the opening race on day two. The first is ALTERNATIVE FACT (best price 12-1). He got no run at all last time out but was finishing strongly, he won the previous race at Newmarket. Should be well suited with the rain and will be getting a good run with the jockey booking.
HORTZADAR (best price 33-1) landed a couple of nice wins last season but faded away near the backend of the year. The break might have been perfect for this five-year-old, and if he runs his best he’ll be in the places at least.
Another one to keep an eye on is Sucellus, who could be well suited here.

First Receiver could be a very classy horse but there’s a few too many unkowns for me to back at 5/2. Instead I’m going to opt with KENZAI WARRIOR (best price 14-1) who I liked before the 2000 Guineas Stakes. There were definite excuses to be made from that outing. I like the form and he should handle the ground. I also think King Carney is overpriced at 40/1.
14:25 Royal Ascot
KING'S CAPER (best price 14-1) didn’t handle the conditions at Lingfield earlier in the month, finishing some distance behind English King. However, with a bit more cut in the ground he could be a big player here. There are some concerns if the distance will work out for this horse, which is why you can get 14/1 with five places on offer. At the top of the market, Win O’Clock could be a big player.

Addeybb was very impressive when partnering with Tom Marquand in Australia, and Japan deserves to be favourite. However, I’ve decided to opt with LORD NORTH (best price 13-2). Lord North narrowly beat Elarqam last time out in a classy field at Haydock. The condition will suit and looks a nice price.
15:35 Royal Ascot
Bookmakers are offering seven places in this race, so make sure you shop around for any each-way bets. Despite being tempted by Bell Rock, I’ve landed on FOX PREMIER (best price 14-1). Fox Premier was last seen finishing second to Forest Of Dean at Goodwood. He has useful form over this distance and won’t mind the forecasted rain.
16:10 Royal Ascot
Plenty of unknown types in this race. I was impressed by CHIEF LITTLE HAWK's (best price 9-2) debut and he will be tricky to beat in the penultimate race. No strong opinion, but there might be a bit of each-way value knocking about with other runs as bookmakers are offering five places.
16:40 Royal Ascot
FUJAIRA PRINCE (best price 9-2) looks an each-way steal with bookmakers offering five places. It won’t be everybody’s cup of tea.
The six-year-old ran well last season, winning one race and placing in a couple of other highlight competitive races. He probably didn’t get the run he wanted last time out at Ascot, and finished strongly to narrowly lose at York the time before. The step up should work out well and he’ll handle the ground.
