Steve Ryder suggests three free betting tips from today's racing action at Musselburgh and Haydock.
1:55 Musselburgh
Tip 1: Persuasion - 0.5pt EW
Best odds of 16/1 at Unibet while publishing.
PERSUASION (best priced at 16/1) won over this course and distance on his second start last season after a run on the AW and he has had the same preparation this term. The David & Nicola Barron trained nine-year-old won off a mark of 87 that day before finishing a close 2nd in September off a mark of 88.
Persuasion has now dropped down to a mark of 86 so he looks well handicapped and he should run well with Saffie Osbourne an interesting jockey booking.
2:46 Haydock
Tip 2: Secret Trix - 1pt EW
Best odds of 9/1 at Unibet while publishing.
The Olly Murphy trained SECRET TRIX (best priced at 9/1) won this race in 2024 off a mark of 121 in first-time cheekpieces and these are now re-fitted off a mark of 120 this year. The nine-year-old has no doubt been campaigned with this race in mind as he has run without cheekpieces on his previous four starts and has been ridden by 7lb claimer Aidan Weaver who is 0-17 in his riding career to date.
Secret Trix has been given a wind operation since his last run, has cheekpieces re-fitted and is now ridden by Lewis Saunders claiming a handy 5lbs. He looks to hold strong claims at the prices.

Tip 3: Largy Go - 1pt
Best odds of 11/4 at Unibet while publishing.
JP McManus bought LARGY GO (best priced at 5/2) for £305,000 following a victory in a PTP in March and although he has been a beaten favourite on his two starts in maiden hurdles, those runs have been over an inadequate trip of 2 miles. The Jonjo & A J O’Neill trained five-year-old has placed on both of those occasions but has shaped as if a step back up in trip will bring about improvement.
Largy Go now steps up in trip to 3m½f on his handicap debut off a mark of 106 and he should prove hard to beat.
