Tips posted today:
Tip 1: Ammes - 0.5pt EW
Best odds of 17/2 at Unibet at the time of publishing.
JP McManus has a strong hand in this race but I am willing to take a chance on AMMES (best priced at 17/2) who qualified for this race in October after three hurdles runs in quick succession. The James Owen trained gelding was a smart flat performer rated 89 who won his first two races over hurdles in good style. Although he was beaten at 2/5 at Wetherby, in hindsight that was a career best effort to get within a length of Minella Study off level weights who went on to beat Winston Junior by 6 ½ lengths at Cheltenham and is now rated 139.
Ammes is rated only 128 over hurdles and was given a run on the AW at Lingfield as a prep for this 17 days ago. With bookmakers offering six places on the opening handicap of the meeting, hopefully he can provide Champion Jockey Sean Bowen with his first festival winner.

Tip 2: Lossiemouth - 1pt
Best odds of 2/1 at AK Bets while publishing.
A fascinating renewal of the Champion Hurdle awaits and horse racing fans finally get to see LOSSIEMOUTH (best priced at 2/1) take her chance in a Champion Hurdle. The seven-year-old has won 13 of her 17 career starts with nine of those races coming at Grade 1 level. She is unbeaten in her four starts at Cheltenham with three of those coming at the festival.
Connections have decided to fit Lossiemouth with first-time cheekpieces following her runner-up effort behind Brighterdaysahead in the Irish Champion Hurdle in the hope that she travels more smoothly through the early stages of the race. With both Brighterdaysahead and Tutti Quanti ensuring a strong gallop, she should travel well into the race and hopefully storm up the hill for a fourth year in a row.
