Tip 1: Cerelia - 1pt

Best odds of 6/4 at bet365 while publishing.

The William Haggas-trained CERELIA (best priced at 6/4) finished 2nd on her debut at Newcastle earlier this month, and a repeat of that effort should be good enough for her to get off the mark. The Wootton Bassett filly cost 410,000 euros as a yearling and pulled nearly five lengths clear of third when runner-up on her debut behind a more experienced rival.

The winner, Bowfell, is odds on to win the 2:45 under a penalty, which gives a positive reading of the form, and that should mean Cerelia proves hard to beat in this race.

Tip 2: Eligible - 0.5pt EW

Best odds of 14/1 at BetMGM while publishing.

ELIGIBLE (best priced at 8/1) is a five-time course winner at Southwell and now drops back into a 0-70 handicap on the AW for the first time since October 2022. The Michael & David Easterby-trained nine-year-old was running well on the AW last year, including when winning in December over this course and distance off a mark of 74 prior to outrunning odds of 33/1 when 3rd at Chester in July off a mark of 70.

Now off a mark of 69, Eligible should be well suited by this return to Southwell, and he looks sure to run well, providing he is fit enough after 155 days off the track.

Tip 3: Fastorslow - 0.5pt EW

Best odds of 7/1 at Unibet while publishing.

It is great to see both Galopin Des Champs and Inothewayurthinkin in the Savills Chase again this year, but they no doubt have March as their main aim of the season. FASTORSLOW (best priced at 7/1) will have stepped forward from his reappearance run when 3rd in the John Durkan Chase, a race that was his first run since finishing 4th in that contest the year before.

Fastorslow finished 2nd in the Irish Gold Cup behind Galopin Des Champs in 2024, but this time has the benefit of race fitness over that rival. It is hard to see him out of the top four, and he could prove the most forward at this time of the year.
