A tight match is predicted in this surprise Wimbledon Women's final line-up.
Wimbledon Women's 2024
The women’s tournament at Wimbledon has once again delivered a host of compelling story lines which will ultimately result in, rather amazingly, the seventh consecutive new champion come Saturday evening.
Wimbledon Women's Final Prediction
The big British hope, Emma Raducanu, made it to the fourth round as a wildcard before crashing out to qualifier Lulu Sun. Raducanu’s performance sparked a sense of renewed hope that another British Wimbledon champion may only be round the corner.
But for now, the wait goes on. As we turn to the final, only two of the top fifteen seeds made it to the quarters, with unseeded surprise package, Donna Vekić, taking Jasmine Paolini to a nailbiting third set finish before eventually losing out on a final place to the seventh seed.
Barbora Krejčíková will be her opponent after she came from a set down to topple 2022 winner, and one of the pre-tournament favourites, Elena Rybakina, in the semi final.
Krejčíková was only seeded 31st before the tournament began, but don’t be fooled by her low ranking, she has pedigree - she’s won every slam in the double’s category and triumphed as a singles player at the 2021 French Open.
Paolini herself has had an explosive 2024, with her own French Open final appearance under her belt already in this slam season, she will be desperate to claim her first major title on Saturday.
A 2-1 set win for Paolini also holds decent odds at 4/1 (Quinn Bet) while virtually every other market has these two priced very, very tightly. There’s no knowing who will take home the title, but it will be certainly be an excellent game of tennis.
