2025 MLB Rookie of the Year Odds: Top Contenders and Betting Insights for Both AL & NL
After a month and some change of the 2025 season, the MLB rookie of the year race is starting to heat up. Jason Radowitz breaks down the latest NL and AL Rookie of the Year odds for each league, and adds in his analysis on where the value lies.

The April 2025 Rookie of the Month awards were handed out once May began.
Kristian Campbell of the Red Sox won the American League honor, while Luisangel Acuna of the Mets won the National League honor.
However, neither Campbell nor Acuna is a favorite to win their respective leagues' Rookie of the Year award. Is that a mistake?

AL Rookie of the Year: Jacob Wilson or Kristian Campbell?
The AL Rookie of the Year race is currently between Jacob Wilson (+115) and Krisitan Campbell (+260).
Campbell has hit .290 with four home runs, 12 RBIs, and an OPS of .870. He's played in 30 games and is just 22 years old, while adding a .9 WAR to begin his career. Campbell only has two stolen bases despite having a .394 OBP, but he's also walked 19 times with just 32 strikeouts.
On the other hand, Wilson has added a .341 average with three home runs and 20 RBIs. The Athletics' shortstop has also added an .816 OPS. This year, he's played in 34 games and has added a .364 OBP. He's also struck out just six times in the entire season. That said, he has only earned five walks. But Wilson's ability to put the ball in play is super impressive.
His WAR is also at .9 this season.
Ultimately, if Wilson continues to hit for such a high average, he'll likely win this award.
Jasson Dominguez of the Yankees, Chandler Simpson of the Rays, and Tomoyuki Sugano are other options to win the AL Rookie of the Year. But at this time, these longshots don't have the numbers to get by Campbell and Wilson.
National League Rookie of the Year Odds
While Luisangel Acuna won the National League Rookie of the Month to begin the season, he's still +2800 to win the award.

NL Rookie of the Year Odds: A Much More Exciting Race in The National League
Bubba Chandler hasn't even debuted for the Pirates yet. Meanwhile, Hyeseong Kim was just recently called up by the Dodgers. You'd like to think Acuna should be ahead of both. Therefore, at +2800, there's value in Acuna.
He's already hit a .298 average with a .362 OBP. In addition, he's stolen eight bases and has scored 14 runs off 25 hits.
That said, he's certainly not the favorite.
Roki Sasaki of the Dodgers has a 3.86 ERA with 24 strikeouts and a 1.45 WHIP in 30.1 innings. With his 24 strikeouts, he's also walked 20 batters. Right now, his WAR is currently at .2, which is nothing to write home about. He's also allowed at least three earned runs in each of his last two games and has had no games with more than four strikeouts. He has a high ceiling, but Sasaki isn't doing enough.
On the other hand, Dylan Crews has had his moments. But he's still hitting .197 this season for the Nationals. Dating back to last year, Crews has had 236 plate apperances and has earned a 2.08 average with only seven home runs and 14 RBIs. That's not good enough, either.
Finally, Agustin Ramirez of the Marlins has added a .244 average with four home runs and eight RBIs in 12 games played. The rookie catcher has earned an .899 OPS and has struck out only eight times in 45 at-bats. He's performing more than Sasaki and Crews despite having less time in the big leagues. At +450, he's the best bet.
Acuna is also worth a flyer at +2800.
