2025 MLB MVP Odds: Cal Raleigh Closes Gap on Aaron Judge in Post All-Star Break AL MVP Race

The AL MVP home run battle has been a thrilling race through the first half of the season. Cal Raleigh edged out Aaron Judge as the All-Star break approached, but Judge has a much better batting average outside of the homers total. Can Raleigh do enough to steal the AL MVP Award in the second half of the season? Matt MacKay analyzes both MLB MVP races following the ASG.

2025 MLB MVP Odds: Cal Raleigh Closes Gap on Aaron Judge in Post All-Star Break AL MVP Race

The 2025 MLB season will resume on Friday following the All-Star break earlier this week. We've got you covered on the latest 2025 MLB MVP odds in futures markets.

Currently, Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge are huge betting favorites to win their league's MVP award. They both have extremely short odds, between -575 and -800 odds. Other players will have to make a serious run by swinging a hot bat, or have Ohtani and Judge go ice cold down the stretch, to jump into realistic contention.

Aaron Judge (-575) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

The New York Yankees' franchise player, Aaron Judge, leads the league in WAR (7.1), Offensive WAR (6.5), batting average (.355), On-Base percentage (.462) and slugging percentage (.733) in 2025. The slugger has racked up the lead in numerous other statistical categories, including hits (125), total bases (258) and offensive win percentage.

While it may look like Judge is a lock to win the AL MVP, his odds have grown longer. This could be due to going without a hit in three of his last five games played, while only tallying one home run.

Judge did post a three-hit outing against the Chicago Cubs on July 12th, which was the game he recorded his 35th home run of the season. The Yankees have been a volatile team in terms of wins and losses, but if Judge remains the league leader in all of these metrics, it's safe to anticipate he'll win his third AL MVP award.

Cal Raleigh (+370) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

There's a bit of a rivalry brewing between Cal Raleigh and Aaron Judge. Raleigh leads the league in home runs (38) and RBIs (82) in 2025.

The Mariners' All-Star catcher and 2024 Gold Glove winner just claimed victory at the 2025 Home Run Derby. Raleigh carries plenty of momentum into the second half of the season.

The Seattle Mariners are currently five games behind the Houston Astros, who lead the AL West. This helps Raleigh's bid at AL MVP by playing on a team in playoff contention.

If Raleigh continues his ridiculous home run pace, he may wind up jumping Judge, which would be his first career AL MVP award. At +370, oddsmakers are more bullish on Raleigh challenging the AL favorite when compared to the NL MVP award market.

Shohei Ohtani (-800) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Shohei Ohtani is on the cusp of winning his fourth MVP and second with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Japanese superstar has recorded 32 home runs, 60 RBIs and boasts a .988 OPS in 2025.

The Dodgers currently hold a 5.5 game lead over the San Diego Padres in the NL West, which many view as the league's most competitive division. Ohtani has also begun throwing pitches again, posting five starts since mid-June.

He's allowed only one run, zero home runs, and two walks. Ohtani's recorded seven strikeouts in his last two starts, while earning more innings in each outing.

The versatile All-Star also leads the Dodgers in runs (91) by a wide margin, with Mookie Betts sitting second with 56 total runs. Ohtani is first on the team in home runs, slugging percentage (.602), OPS, OPS+ and total bases.

Unless the Dodgers' star suffers an injury, he appears to be in the driver's seat to win NL MVP for the second straight year.

Pete Crow-Armstrong (+700) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Chicago Cubs CF Pete Crow-Armstrong is one of the MLB's rising stars in 2025. The left-handed hitter earned his first All-Star appearance thanks to recording a 5.2 WAR, 99 hits, 25 home runs, 71 RBIs and 67 runs in 373 at bats.

Crow-Armstrong has a .544 slugging percentage, .847 OPS and .302 OBP. He's only one run shy of tying the Cubs leader, Kyle Tucker, for most runs recorded this season, while leading Chicago in WAR and total bases (203) on a loaded roster.

The 23-year-old has been a huge spark for one of the best teams in the National League. The Cubs are 57-39, holding a one game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central, while sitting one game behind the Dodgers for most wins in the conference.

It's going to be difficult to keep pace with Ohtani. However, Crow-Armstrong's talent at the plate and in the outfield warrant a small wager in this NL MVP futures market at its current 7-1 price.
