The market is led by Jo Adell and Willy Adames, two players on teams that have already fallen well outside the postseason picture. Adley Rutschman represents the most fascinating potential blockbuster, while Sandy Alcantara and Fernando Tatis Jr. appear unlikely to move despite remaining available in prediction markets.
Team situations matter as much as individual value. The Angels and Giants are clear sellers, Seattle is considering a partial sell-off and Baltimore is weighing both immediate and long-term needs. Boston, Miami and San Diego remain legitimate playoff contenders, making trades involving their stars considerably more difficult.
MLB Players to be Traded Odds Breakdown
Jo Adell (68%)
Adell is batting .239 with 16 home runs, 62 RBIs, three stolen bases and a .682 OPS for the Angels. Philadelphia has pursued right-handed outfield help and has been directly connected to Adell, while Cleveland views him as a potential solution against left-handed pitching. The Yankees also remain a logical participant after holding discussions with an Angels team sitting at 43-69 and expected to continue selling controllable players after an extremely disappointing season.
Willy Adames (57%)
Adames has produced a .224 average, 18 home runs, 47 RBIs, four stolen bases and a .698 OPS during a disappointing second season in San Francisco. Philadelphia, Toronto, Atlanta and Tampa Bay have all been identified as potential fits, although his long-term contract and full no-trade clause complicate negotiations. The 47-65 Giants have already started selling and remain open to further moves, but shorter contracts are much easier to unload than the five years and more than $150 million remaining on Adames’ deal after this season.
Adley Rutschman (44%)
Rutschman is batting .251 with eight home runs, 47 RBIs and a .764 OPS over 67 games while recovering from wrist inflammation. The Yankees, Red Sox, Rays, White Sox and Rangers have all been identified as teams seeking catching help, giving Baltimore a potentially aggressive bidding market. The Orioles are only 2.5 games outside the final Wild Card position at 54-58, so this would be more of a roster reset around Samuel Basallo than a traditional fire sale.
Jarren Duran (25%)
Duran has endured a miserable season, batting .200 with 14 home runs, 57 RBIs, 15 stolen bases and a .602 OPS. Houston has pursued left-handed outfield help, while San Diego reportedly made an earlier push and could revisit the situation if Boston lowers its asking price. The Red Sox are 60-51 and firmly positioned in the Wild Card race, so they are not conventional sellers, but moving Duran could help rebalance an outfield that already includes Ceddanne Rafaela and Wilyer Abreu.
Sandy Alcantara (24%)
Alcantara is 12-6 with a 3.68 ERA, 120 strikeouts and a 1.20 WHIP across 156.2 innings. Rotation-needy contenders would immediately line up if Miami changed its position, but the Marlins have repeatedly indicated that Alcantara, Eury Pérez and Max Meyer are not available. Miami is 58-55 and only 1.5 games outside a Wild Card spot, making it more likely to add strategically or trade secondary pieces than move the former Cy Young winner.
Rafael Devers (23%)
Devers is batting .250 with 23 home runs, 62 RBIs and an .805 OPS, giving San Francisco its most productive hitter among the expensive veteran core. San Diego represents a plausible win-now fit, while Detroit, Washington and the Mets were among the earlier hypothetical destinations connected to the left-handed slugger. The Giants would likely need to retain substantial salary from a contract running through 2033, and the limited market makes Devers less likely to move than the team’s rental pitchers and position players.
Randy Arozarena (21%)
Arozarena has been Seattle’s most consistent offensive player, batting .282 with 14 home runs, 49 RBIs, 20 stolen bases and an .834 OPS. Philadelphia, Boston and San Diego are natural landing spots for a right-handed outfielder who can become a free agent after the season. The 55-58 Mariners remain only two games outside a Wild Card spot, but they have already traded Luis Castillo and are considering a partial sell-off rather than committing fully to either buying or rebuilding.
Hunter Greene (21%)
Greene has made only five starts following another injury interruption, going 2-2 with a 6.83 ERA, 33 strikeouts and a 1.37 WHIP across 27.2 innings. The Yankees, Padres, Dodgers and Diamondbacks have been discussed as potential destinations because Greene remains under long-term team control and still possesses elite velocity. Cincinnati is 53-58 and 5.5 games outside the Wild Card, but the Reds would require a major prospect package before moving an arm they still view as part of their future.
Fernando Tatis Jr. (10%)
Tatis is batting .283 with eight home runs, 49 RBIs, 26 stolen bases and a .753 OPS. The diminished power production and contract running through 2034 would make negotiations complicated, but his speed, defense and star appeal would generate interest from nearly every large-market contender if he truly became available. San Diego has won eight of its past 10 games, sits one game outside the Wild Card and is actively exploring additions, leaving almost no reason to trade a franchise player during the current push.
