NBA MVP Race: Giannis Antetokounmpo's Odds To Win His Third MVP

While just now hitting his basketball prime, Giannis Antetokounmpo has a resume that some veterans may not have a chance to achieve with two MVP trophies and even a championship. Of course, he has more awards than that and it speaks for itself, but he’s backing up his championship run with another potential MVP year.

NBA Regular Season MVP Winner Odds

While the Milwaukee Bucks are looking to repeat their championship season, Giannis is averaging 29.7 PPG, 11.5 RPG, and 6.0 APG on 54.9% from the field. Giannis has even improved his three-point shooting to just above 30%.

Giannis’ statlines are always huge and it’s gotten to a point where his absurd statlines are normal and most people don’t bat an eye at them.

In a loaded Eastern Conference and a slow start in early 2022, the Bucks are the second seed behind the Miami Heat in large part because of Giannis.

Giannis leading the Bucks to a top seed in the Eastern Conference and potentially leading the league in scoring while playing elite defense alone is an incredible MVP case for the already two-time MVP and NBA Champion. One thing that Giannis is working against is a narrative. Unfortunately narrative does matter for people voting on MVP and as a two-time winner of the award, the narrative may lean towards someone who has yet to win one.
