Is Steph Curry a Top 10 Player All-Time After Winning Finals MVP?

Steph Curry won his first Finals MVP after winning his fourth NBA Finals title in eight seasons this week. That was the one blemish on his resume.

Critics said that other players like Andre Iguodala and Kevin Durant carried Curry in the NBA Finals, giving him three championships. But this season, Curry added 31.2 points per game while also averaging six rebounds and five assists per game. He was easily the best player on the court.

Curry left no doubt about who the NBA Finals MVP would be this season. But after winning the Finals MVP and adding his fourth NBA Championship ring to his fingers, is Curry finally a top-10 NBA player of all time?

Where Does Curry Rank As A Top-10 NBA Player of All-Time?

Steph Curry was probably around the 15th best player in the NBA before the season began. He had three NBA titles on his resume along with many other awards that include two MVP titles, many all-star game selections, and so forth.

Curry is absolutely in the same conversation as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, and Kobe Bryant. But he's probably not at that level yet. He's basically right behind that group of players.

That would essentially make him the second-best player in the NBA right now, however, which is a very cool milestone, and probably puts him above players like Larry Bird, Dirk Nowitzki, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, and Jerry West, and Oscar Roberston.

In reality, today's game is different from years ago. Curry changed the game when it comes to the three-ball. He's the best shooter of all-time with many titles to show for it. That deserves a lot of credit.

I feel like if any player in the NBA in today's game played any player back then, of course, today's players would destroy the older players. That's due to more athleticism, technology, and everything else.

Plus, you also have to think about how Curry changed the landscape of Golden State. The Warriors were worth $450 million when Curry arrived in Golden State. They're now worth over $4 billion and probably on their way to $5 billion after another title.

Many stars are kind of thrown onto a winning team. He helped develop a winning team with other players that were drafted by the Warriors. That doesn't happen all that often.

Therefore, I would suggest Curry is right around being a top 10-15 player in the NBA. His career is still going. He could easily become a top 10 or even top 5 player with a couple more rings.

His story clearly isn't over yet.
