NBA Rookie of the Year Rankings

1. Paolo Banchero (-450) Bet $100 to collect $122 Click here for the best odds, available at FanDuel

Banchero has been out with an ankle injury that will keep him out for another week, but that has yet to affect his odds thus far. He’s actually gotten better odds since playing his last game on November 11th. To recap, he’s averaging 23.5 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game. When he gets back to the court, Banchero could see his odds change if he takes a week to adjust back from his injury.

2. Bennedict Mathurin (+370) Bet $100 to collect $470 Click here for the best odds, available at FanDuel

Mathurin has averaged around 20 points per game in his last four games, and he’s at 19.6 points per game on the season. He saw a slight boost in odds as he continues to climb towards Banchero in the rankings, but he’s going to need quite the jump to catch up. If he can secure a consistent starting spot, he’ll be able to make a run for Banchero’s money.

3. Jaden Ivey (+2400) Bet $100 to collect $2500 Click here for the best odds, available at FanDuel

With Cade Cunningham, unfortunately, suffering a shin injury, Ivey will see a usage boost, and as a rookie, he’ll be able to use the time to shoot with more volume and develop on the offensive side of the ball. With increased usage should come more scoring for Ivey, who’s averaging 16.3 points per game and has had an impressive set of games where he’s averaged 20.5 points per game. If this trend continues, I expect Ivey to get a big enough jump to compete with Mathurin and Banchero as the top three on the list.

4. Keegan Murray (+8000) Bet $100 to collect $8100 Click here for the best odds, available at FanDuel

The 1-3 spots on the power rankings remain solid, but Murray has held down the fourth spot for a few weeks now. He continues to prove to be a great fit on the rolling Kings, but the emergence of the team leaves Murray playing a specific role, whereas the other Rookies on this list get a much more solid boost in usage which leads to more scoring. That doesn’t mean Murray can’t score, though, and I expect his 12 points per game to go up as the offense will need help from Murray once their hot streak cools down.

5. Shaedon Sharpe (+13000) Bet $100 to collect $13100. Click here for the best odds, available at FanDuel

With his power rankings debut, Sharpe comes in as a rookie in a similar situation to Scottie Barnes, who won the award last year. Obviously, the scenarios are different, but Sharpe wasn’t regarded as a contender for the award early on as a pick, but he’s slowly playing his way in as his team continues to succeed. He’s a double-digit per-game scorer for a team that’s been playing above their expectations, and if he continues to rise on the offensive side of the ball, his case should show increased odds. His most recent outing was a 20-point performance on seven-of-nine shooting, and if he picks up on that and shoots more next time he’s hot, he could easily get a boost on this list.
