Another change at the fifth spot and some more intriguing odds movement are the biggest changes in this week's NBA MVP Odds Power Rankings. Joel Embiid, after a big week pre-injury, makes his way back onto the list while Tatum closes the gap between the top two spots. Let’s take a look at the updated NBA MVP Odds.

On the season, Doncic is averaging 34 points per game, nine rebounds per game, and 8.1 assists per game. Those numbers are MVP-winning worthy, even if his team is the sixth seed in the Western Conference. Think 2016-17 Russell Westbrook who didn’t have the best team, but his team would’ve been a bottom-feeder if it wasn’t for the ridiculous stat lines he put up. night in and night out. Doncic is having one of those seasons, and if he wins with a fourth-seeded team or worse, people aren’t going to agree even though he’s deserving.Â

Giannis is still averaging 30.5 points per game and 11.6 rebounds per game while his team still doesn’t know their capabilities. Khris Middleton's return could hinder Giannis’ MVP case, though. They’ll be able to win more games, but if Giannis takes a slight step back to let Middleton get adjusted, Tatum could easily swoop in and take the second-best odds. As of now, he’s got a very solid case and is a close second for a reason.Â

Tatum’s case feels really, really simple to break down. He’s the best player on the best team this season. He’s averaging 30.6 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game while his team has a 14-4 record heading into Thanksgiving. He took a solid jump in his odds this week, too, going from +700 to +400 cutting the gap into the top three. He put together a 28-point performance in a loss to the Bulls, then responded with a 37-point performance in a decisive win against the Mavericks. If he continues his play, he’ll be able to keep inching toward Giannis’ odds.Â

4. Stephen Curry (+1000) Best odds available at FanDuel (click here)
Curry is averaging 31.6 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game, and 7.1 assists per game. Without him, his team would simply be in the dumps. Right now, the Warriors are 9-10, but who knows how much worse that would be if Curry wasn’t having an MVP-level season with some huge games. They have, though, won three straight games, including a road game. As their record improves, one would assume that Curry is able to remain in the power rankings as he’s having one of his best seasons at age 34.Â

Embiid is averaging a very solid 32.3 points per game and 10.1 rebounds per game. This month, he put up a 42-point game in a win but wasn’t content enough so he decided to score 59 points in a win, too. He followed that up with two 32-point games. If he didn’t go down with an injury, he could have further proved his case to be on this competitive list, but his left midfoot sprain is going to be a setback for him. When he is healthy, one would assume he’s going to give Curry a run for his money at the fourth spot.
