The inevitable chase for the top odds to win the NBA MVP award is officially getting spicy. There’s an interesting three-way tie that’s due to be changed in the next week of games, as Luka Doncic has officially been caught. Let’s take a look at the updated NBA MVP Odds Power Rankings.
Odds | Player | Stock Watch | Implied Chance |
|---|---|---|---|
-2000 | Joel Embiid | Neutral | 95.24% |
+1200 | Nikola Jokic | Neutral | 7.69% |
+1400 | Giannis Antetokounmpo | Neutral | 6.67% |
+50000 | Jayson Tatum | Neutral | 0.2% |
+50000 | Luka Doncic | Neutral | 0.2% |
1. Luka Doncic (+300) Bet $100 to collect $400. Best odds available at BetMGM (click here)
Though Doncic is averaging 33.6 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game, and 8.7 assists per game, his team is sub .500 and struggling to maintain a dominant record like the other candidates. His stats, however, are too incredible to ignore. Like Russell Westbrook in 2016-17, he could lead a team not worthy of a top-6 seed to a top-6 seed and earn his flowers there, but it’s reasonable that he no longer is the sole leader of the top odds.
2. Giannis Antetokounmpo (+300) Bet $100 to collect $400. Best odds available at BetMGM (click here)
Doncic isn’t the only player with an incredible stat line, though. He’s picked up 30+ points in each of his last five games and he’s averaging 31.3 points per game on the season, as well as 11.5 rebounds per game and 5.5 assists per game. He’s got the counting stats, but he’s also led his team to a 15-5 record without his second star in Khris Middleton. It’ll be interesting to see how Giannis’ odds are impacted when Middleton does make his return, though.

3. Jayson Tatum (+300) Bet $100 to collect $400. Best odds available at BetMGM (click here)
Tatum has had to climb the most to tie up the odds for the top spot, and that’s reasonable with the season he’s having. Of course, narrative matters, and he was the best player on a team that was two wins away from being champions. Since then, despite all the drama, he’s led his team to an 18-4 start while averaging 31.6 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game, and 4.5 assists per game.
4. Stephen Curry (+1200) Bet $100 to collect $1,300. Best odds available at Bet365 (click here)
Curry is in a very similar spot to Doncic. His counting stats are some of the best in his career, but his team is 11-11 on the season. Though, they would be much, much worse if Curry wasn’t having the season he’s having. His season averages are 31.4 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game, and seven assists per game. If the Warriors can put together a winning stretch where they vastly improve their record, Curry could get a solid odds boost.
5. Joel Embiid (+1800) Bet $100 to collect $1,900. Best odds available at Bet365 (click here)
With 31.1 points per game, 9.6 rebounds per game, and 4.9 assists per game, Embiid also has the counting stats to be on this list. His team, who’s been without James Harden for some time, is 12-10 on the season. They’re going to have to improve their record to see Embiid be a legitimate contender on this list. He was incredible in the games he was able to play in for the month of November, as he averaged 34.1 points per game on the month. If he can keep that up going into December, Embiid should naturally see his odds rise.
