NBA MVP Power Rankings

1. Jayson Tatum MVP Odds (+250) Bet $100 to Win $350 Click here for the best odds, available at FanDuel

This week, Tatum gets another solid boost with some separation from Giannis who is at the two spot on the list. After a slow stretch from Tatum, he had a breakthrough game with 44 points in a very solid win over the Los Angeles Lakers. He looked like the best, most dominating player on the floor. Tatum’s team is the top in both the Eastern Conference and the NBA, and he’s the best player while that’s happening.

2. Giannis Antetokounmpo MVP Odds (+310) Bet $100 to Win $410 Click here for the best odds, available at Caesars

Giannis’ monthly points per game have slightly dropped each month, with him averaging 28.9 points per game this month. His numbers, though, are still MVP-worthy. The Milwaukee Bucks are 20-8 and just behind the Boston Celtics in the standings and are the second-best team in the NBA. He continues to dominate and look like one of the best players the NBA has to offer.

3. Luka Doncic (+350) MVP Odds Bet $100 to Win $450 Click here for the best odds, available at BetMGM

Though Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks are 14-14 this far into the season, his starts are hard to ignore. Record-wise, one would assume Doncic isn’t in the race, but his 33 points per game, 8.4 rebounds per game, and 8.7 assists per game are incredible. He’s going to have to finish as a top-six team in the Western Conference if he wants a chance with his incredible stats to win the MVP award. For him to sustain these stats for this long is incredible, though.

4. Joel Embiid (+1000) MVP Odds Bet $100 to Win $1100 Click here for the best odds, available at FanDuel

Embiid is up to 33.3 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game on the season. His incredible numbers have the Philadelphia 76ers just ahead of a .500 record. In Embiid’s 5 games played in the month of December, he’s averaging just under 40 points per game. He’s taken a step forward and is statistically an MVP-level player. The numbers are there, and if they can scrape together more wins while they continue to get healthy, Embiid can keep climbing the standings.

5. Nikola Jokic MVP Odds (+1900) Bet $100 to Win $2000 Click here for the best odds, available at FanDuel

The Denver Nuggets are a top-three seed in a competitive Western Conference, and with Stephen Curry’s injury, mixed in with the lack of the Warriors team success, Jokic is back in the top 5. He’s averaging just under 25 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game, and 9 assists per game. Though they’re not the most eye-popping stats, they’re very solid and result in making everyone on his team better. It’ll be interesting to see if Jokic continues to improve his counting stats.
