NBA Rookie of the Year Power Rankings
1. Paolo Banchero ROTY Odds (-350) Bet $100 to collect $107 FanDuel has the best odds, click here to bet
Banchero played three games in the past week, scoring 20 points in each of them. Consistently scoring 20 points or more is an incredible way to run away with the ROTY award with no real competition. He’s going to get some obvious competition as his team won’t be competing, but it will be hard to argue with Banchero’s stats.
2. Bennedict Mathurin ROTY Odds (+280) Bet $100 to collect $308 FanDuel has the best odds, click here to bet
Though Mathurin began his first of three games of the week with a nine-point performance, he quickly bounced back and scored 24 points then 22 points. He’s averaging a very, very solid 18 points per game and his team is 15-15 on the season. Mathurin’s case could lay in whether or not the Pacers earn a playoff spot or not, and how much the voters take winning into account this year.
3. Jaden Ivey ROTY Odds (+3000) Bet $100 to collect $3100 BetMGM has the best odds, click here to bet
With Cunningham out for the season, Ivey has yet to take that step that could see his points per game hit 17 or so. Though there is plenty of time left this season, Ivey will have to use it to crawl toward Mathurin and Banchero in the Power Rankings. He’s averaging just under 15 points per game and isn’t winning enough to have good enough odds to compete.
4. Jalen Williams ROTY Odds (+15000) Bet $100 to collect $15100 BetRivers has the best odds, click here to bet
With 12.1 points per game in December, Williams is up to 11.1 points per game on the season. It won’t be enough to win, and the last two players on these Power Rankings feel like honorable mentions, but it does speak to how solid Williams has been as the 12th pick of the draft. He’s carving out his role on a Thunder team that has loads of young talent and not enough room to develop everyone.
5. Keegan Murray ROTY Odds (+15000) Bet $100 to collect $15100 BetRivers has the best odds, click here to bet
Murray had an interesting week that featured two solid games and two not-so-solid games, which has his odds moving none, like Williams. Averaging just under 12 points per game, it’s hard to imagine Murray getting a much bigger role than a potential third option without a consistent role. With that, it’ll be hard for Murray to pull together consistent enough stats to make enough noise for ROTY. Being in the outside looking in is the best-case scenario for Keegan, despite his 12 points per game being quite impactful for his squad.
