NBA MVP Odds Update

1. Joel Embiid (-145) (Bet $145 to Collect $245) Best Odds at FanDuel

Embiid has been on an absolute tear in March. If the MVP was slightly close when Jokic was the favorite, it’s only gotten closer. He’s averaging 35 points per game on the month and has maintained that cadence over the past week. He’s put up a 46-point performance en route to a win after playing only 16 minutes in a game. They’ve won many games this month and have continued improving their record, though they are only the third seed in the Eastern Conference. He’s pushing his MVP resume on a game-by-game basis and only improving as time passes.

2. Nikola Jokic (+195) (Bet $100 to Collect $295) Best Odds at FanDuel

Jokic did not lose being a favorite. Instead, Embiid went and took it from him. The Nuggets have won their last two games behind big performances from Jokic, including a triple-double and a near-triple-double. Leading his team amongst the best teams in the Western Conference while consistently single-handedly carrying his team on a nightly basis. His MVP case is strong, and his advanced stats don’t lie, but voter fatigue is real, and that’s going to hurt Jokic as Embiid hasn’t brought home the hardware as the other two.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo (+550) (Bet $100 to Collect $650) Best Odds at BetMGM

Giannis has just as solid a case as the other two MVP candidates, and his team is on top of the Eastern Conference, with three straight wins from the Bucks as Giannis has been just as efficient as ever. His case only strengthens as the season winds down, which is on par with the other candidates. The Bucks, when healthy, are arguably the best team in the entirety of the NBA. Though they hold the top spot, they’re out to prove they’re the best team in the NBA, and that’s boosted Giannis’ case to win the MVP, as he’s taken no games off down this stretch.

4. Jayson Tatum (+25000) (Bet $100 to Collect $25,100) Best Odds at BetRivers

Having had two incredible wins and statistical performances, Tatum’s odds still only drop. This race was tight towards the beginning of the season, but the award was wide open. Now, it’s a three-man race, and Tatum is a close finish, looking from the outside in, even as his team is the second-best in the Eastern Conference. His big games and wins aren’t enough to compensate for the rough patches and statistical drop-offs the Celtics have endured a few times this season.

5. Luka Doncic (+30000) (Bet $100 to Collect $30,100) Best Odds at BetRivers

Now, Tatum being fourth makes sense. He should be the only player in the realm of the top three players. Doncic has no business being as close to Tatum as he is. The Mavericks are the 11th seed in the Western Conference currently. At first, Luka had video game numbers, but we’ve watched his numbers come down to earth as much as they can in a season with inflated numbers as we’ve seen. It’s hard to even reel Doncic in as an MVP candidate anymore, but these last two spots on the list aren’t too serious of candidates and more so fill-ins.
