His team is the third-best in the Eastern Conference, and he’s been the driving force in doing so. On top of that, Embiid is the only player in the top-3 to have not won the award yet. It’s trending towards Embiid bringing home the award.

Averaging a near-triple-double, Jokic seemed to have been on his way to his third straight MVP. The discourse was strong for a while, but eventually, the odds flipped in favor of Embiid. His impact was much further, and the advanced stats back that up.

He may have the best MVP case, considering he did so without Khris Middleton in plenty of games this season, but he’s won two MVPs in his career and seems to be out of consideration for anything except a finalist.

Tatum has been too far out of the race for some time now for this pick to have any substance.

Also, every other player on this list provides some value outside of controlling the offense in a heliocentric style. Doncic can’t carry a team like the other players with his supporting cast.
