Brooklyn's Mikal Bridges was the standalone favorite with sportsbooks ahead of the NBA season for the Most Improved Player Award. However, Tyrese Maxey’s performance against the Bucks has seen his odds plummet as he grasped a share of the top spot.
Tyrese Maxey was +1600 with some sportsbooks to win the award earlier in the month, however, his odds are now level with Bridges at +1000.
Desmond Bane is another in the market who has seen a positive shift in his odds. Bane could have been backed at +4000 for the award earlier in the month, but now has odds of +2500.
Oddschecker spokesperson, Sam Eaton “Online sportsbooks were quick to react to Tyrese Maxey’s performance against the Bucks. However, he’s not been the most popular with sports bettors. Jordan Poole has been the most popular bet in the market this month despite his odds sitting at +1800. Just over 16% of bets have been on Poole to win the award, compared to 11% on Maxey.”
