NBA MVP Power Rankings
1. Nikola Jokic (+185) (Bet $100 to collect $285)
Nikola Jokic has scored 23 or fewer points in three of his last four games. The Nuggets have also lost three straight games.
Still, Jokic has already earned a couple of triple-doubles and has averaged 25.5 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 11.3 assists in four games in December. Despite the losses, he's undoubtedly the best player in the NBA.
Jokic has still scored 28.4 points per game this season with 13 rebounds and 9.6 assists.
2. Luka Doncic (+430) (Bet $100 to collect $530)
Doncic has earned 31.9 points per game with 8.4 rebounds and 8.7 assists. His field goal percentage at 48.8% isn't so bad when you look at all of the three-point attempts that Doncic has taken.
In December, through three games, Doncic has averaged 13 threes per game. He's also averaging 36 points, 13 assists, and 10.3 rebounds.
3. Joel Embiid (+650) (Bet $100 to collect $750)
Embiid leads the NBA in scoring with 33.3 points per game. On December 6, he scored 50 points with 13 rebounds on 19-for-29 from the field.
Embiid is a pro at getting to the foul line and has added at least 30 points in seven straight games.
4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (+800) (Bet $100 to collect $900)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has made the most significant jump heading into Week 8. He's now at +800 and fourth on the list in MVP odds.
Shai helped the Thunder escape the Warriors in overtime with 38 points, five steals, five rebounds, and five assists. He shot 50% from the field despite taking 30 shots in that game.
5. Giannis Antetokounmpo (+1200) (Bet $100 to collect $1300)
Giannis Antetokounmpo has averaged 61.4% from the field this season. He won't take many threes. However, he's still earned 30.5 points per game with 10.6 rebounds and five assists per game.
Antetokounmpo will likely need to add more assists to his box score if he wants to beat out Doncic or Jokic.
However, he's added at least 31 points in six of his last seven games.
6. Jayson Tatum (+1400) (Bet $100 to collect $1500)
Tatum has taken the biggest fall.
He's had more games with 25 or fewer points than 30+ over the last five games. He's also shot 50% or worse in the previous two games and hasn't been effective from downtown either.
Tatum has scored 27.5 points per game. But 8.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists with a field goal percentage of under 50% isn't going to cut it.
