NBA MVP Power Rankings

1. Joel Embiid (+190) (Bet $100 collect $290)

Joel Embiid has averaged 35 points per game this season. He's also earned 11.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists with a 53.6% field goal percentage.

Even in January, Embiid has added more than 35 points per game. He also scored 41 against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, adding ten assists and seven rebounds in the win.

Embiid's risk is that he can't miss many more games to remain eligible to win the award. However, he's clearly the best player in the NBA this year.

2. Nikola Jokic (+240) (Bet $100 collect $340)

Jokic is close to averaging a triple-double. He's scored 26.1 points and 11.9 rebounds and has 9.1 assists per game while hitting 58.7% of shots this season.

Jokic is right around his usual averages in January, but his loss to the Sixers on Tuesday didn't help his chances of beating out Embiid for the MVP. However, on Sunday, he scored 42 points in a road win against Washington. He's still certainly in the race.

3. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (+360) (Bet $100 to collect $460)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander isn't averaging Embiid numbers from the field. But he's added 30.7 points per game in January and has averaged over 31 points per game this season.

Gilgeous-Alexander has also earned 5.6 rebounds with 6.3 assists and has shot nearly 55% from the field.

He also just had back-to-back games with 30+ points and helped the Thunder to two big road wins.

4. Luka Doncic (+700) (Bet $100 to collect $800)

Luka Doncic has scored 33.6 points per game with 8.3 rebounds and 9.2 assists. However, he's shooting below .500, unlike the other three guys above him.

Still, Doncic has averaged 31.6 points per game in five games during January. He's another guy who tends to miss many games due to injuries. So, there's a risk in betting on Doncic due to eligibility reasons.

He'll also have to get his shooting percentage up if he wants to compete with everyone else.

5. Giannis Antetokounmpo (+1000) (Bet $100 to collect $1100)

Giannis Antetokounmpo has earned 32 points per game in January. He's also shooting nearly 61% from the field this month and this year.

His assists are increasing, and the Bucks continue to score at a very high pace when he's on the floor. If the Bucks can get in gear soon, Giannis could be an interesting dark horse for the award.

6. Jayson Tatum (+2900) (Bet $100 to collect $3000)

Jayson Tatum just finished with 18 points against the Houston Rockets on Sunday. He added seven rebounds and three assists on an underwhelming 4-for-17 from the field.

He's not going to win the award. Don't bother.
