NBA MVP Race: Nikola Jokic Is On His Way To a Third MVP Heading Into Week 25

The sportsbooks essentially believe Nikola Jokic will win his third MVP of his career this season.

With one week left in the season, the odds emphatically favor Jokic over Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

On FanDuel, you can't even bet on players like Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, or Jalen Brunson.

Check out the MVP odds as we head into Week 25, the final week of the NBA regular season.

NBA MVP Rankings

1. Nikola Jokic (-5000) (Bet $5000 to $5100)

Nikola Jokic added a triple-double against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. He made only six shots on 13 attempts but still managed to score 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists in a 32-point win against Atlanta.

This season, Jokic is 10th in scoring. However, he's also fourth in rebounding and third in assists. Jokic has put together the best all-around season offensively, shooting 57.8% from the field.

He's also got the Nuggets tied for first place in the Western Conference.

2. Luka Doncic (+2500) (Bet $100 to collect $2600)

Luka Doncic probably deserves better than his +2500 price tag. This season, he was first in the NBA with nearly 34 points per game.

Doncic was also second in the NBA in assists, with 9.8 per game. The Mavericks also won 13 of their last 14 games with Luka Doncic on the court.

Doncic and the Mavericks just weren't consistent enough earlier in the season. Because let's be fair, Doncic added 32.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 10.1 assists per game in March and has already averaged 30.7 points, 11 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game in April through three games.

If anyone could sneak in an MVP over Jokic, it's still Doncic. Sometimes, voters would rather someone new win. Keep that in mind. However, sportsbooks don't see it that way.

3. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (+3500) (Bet $100 to collect $3600)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a phenomenal year. But he just couldn't sustain his success later in the season.

Although he's averaged more than 30 points per game, in March, Shai only averaged 26.3 points per game. He also hasn't played a game in April due to an injury, which never helped his situation.

Gilgeous-Alexander shouldn't even be in the conversation anymore. Someone like Jalen Brunson should probably be in this spot instead. But it's not a big deal. The race is between Jokic and Doncic at this point.
