2025 NBA Eastern Conference Finals Series Odds: Pacers vs. Knicks Total Games, Series Props for ECF

The Knicks and Pacers are turning into rivals.

This will be the second consecutive season that the Knicks and Pacers will battle in the playoffs. Last year, the Pacers outlasted the Knicks, earning the second-round series. However, this year, the Knicks are the favorites and are healthier than last year.

If you recall, the Knicks didn't have an injured Julius Randle for their playoff series against the Pacers last year. OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson also missed games in last year's NBA Playoffs against the Pacers.

Who knows what would've happened in 2024 if those guys were healthy? That said, the Knicks are looking for some payback in 2025 and have a lot riding on this series.

The last time the Knicks made it to the NBA Finals was in 1999. If you're 25 years old or younger, you've never even seen the Knicks in the NBA Finals, for example.

On the other hand, the Indiana Pacers made it into the NBA Finals in 2000. So it's been a super long drought for that fanbase, too. That said, the Pacers might not have enough in this series. Don't forget the Pacers failed to win a game against the Celtics in last year's Eastern Conference Finals.

The Knicks managed three wins before Jayson Tatum got hurt, including two on the road in the TD Garden. It's why the Knicks are favorites to win the Eastern Conference Finals. But is that the best bet? Let's talk about it.

Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks Series Odds

New York Knicks (-153) vs. Indiana Pacers (+135) Series Moneyline Odds

The Indiana Pacers have been the second-best offense in the NBA Playoffs this season. They've scored 119.5 points per 100 possessions and have added a 59.1% effective field goal percentage. In addition, they've limited turnovers to 12.6%, which is above average.

Beyond that, the Pacers have earned a 20.8 free-throw rate, which should continue against a Knicks defense that ranks 16th in defensive free-throw rate. Still, the Knicks have kept opponents to a 52% effective field goal percentage and have added nearly 16% of turnovers per game in the playoffs. New York has also held teams to 30.1% of offensive rebounds, which will help a lot, especially with the Pacers adding only 19.9% of offensive rebounds per game.

The Knicks need to force the Pacers into tough shots. With home-court advantage, that's very doable for the Knicks.

Meanwhile, the Knicks haven't shot very well in the playoffs. New York has hit a 51.3% effective field goal percentage, which is currently 15th in the NBA Playoffs. However, the Knicks have also gained 30.8% of offensive rebounds per game and should have more second chances. They'll also get to the foul line at a high rate and will likely win the turnover battle in this series.

This should be a tight, physical matchup between two fun underdog teams. However, with home-court advantage and more depth, I've got the Knicks pulling this series out.

Pacers vs. Knicks Over 5.5 (-188) or Under 5.5 Games (+152)

Most of the NBA analysts are predicting seven games in 2024. Ultimately, the Pacers had their way against the Cavaliers. There's no denying that. But Cleveland also had many injuries and just kind of fell flat on its face when it mattered the most.

Clearly, the Knicks won't do that. These guys stepped up when it mattered the most, earning a huge rout against the Celtics in Game 6 at home. With home court advantage to start the series, and a lot of success on the road in this playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised if the Knicks won this series in five games.

Pacers vs. Knicks Series Player Props: Jalen Brunson Most Threes (+210)

Tyrese Haliburton is currently the favorite in this market to hit the most three-pointers. But I don't see it.

Haliburton nailed 6-of-10 in Game 5 to send the Cavaliers home. However, in the other four games, he made no more than two threes in any of them. He actually had two games with no more than one three, and one game with no threes.

Meanwhile, Brunson made at least three three-pointers in four of six games against the Celtics and took 7.7 attempts per game in that second-round series. Haliburton made 4.8 threes per game against the Cavaliers and isn't even the leading scorer on the Pacers.

Give me Brunson here.
