When filling out your bracket, sometimes you want to feel good about selecting a team that can score at will.
These are the best five offenses in March Madness as we head into the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
2024 March Madness: 5 Best Offenses
1. Connecticut Huskies
After winning the NCAA Tournament last year, the UConn Huskies are the No. 1 offense in the nation.
The Huskies lost multiple players to professional basketball last year. But they replenished and developed a new roster that hasn't missed a beat.
UConn is terrific inside the arc, shooting above 58%. The Huskies have also dominated on the glass, earning over 37% offensive rebounds.
The Huskies always have plenty of options on the court. They've also kept turnovers down and don't get blocked very often, either.
2. Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama is one of the fastest teams in the country. What makes the Crimson Time so fascinating is that they're also one of the most efficient.
Can you imagine being fast and efficient? That's super hard to do. But that's Alabama.
Alabama has shot around 37% from downtown and has hit over 57% from inside the arc this season. Beyond that, Alabama is one of the best teams from the foul line this season.
They've also dominated the offensive glass and gotten to the foul line at an above-average rate while keeping turnovers down. Alabama is hard to guard.
3. Illinois Fighting Illini
There's not one area where Illinois lacks on the offensive end.
Illinois has added close to 36% of offensive rebounds and has almost hit 55% from inside the arc this season. They're also not turning the ball over at a high rate and have been getting to the foul line. That's ideal, knowing Illinois has shot over 74% from the foul line this season.
However, despite all the success, Illinois isn't tallying up the assists like other highly efficient offenses are.
4. Purdue Boilermakers
Everyone raves about Purdue's center, Zach Edey. It's deserved. But did you know Purdue has shot above 40% from downtown this season?
The Boilermakers also get to the foul line at a very high rate and dominate the offensive glass with Edey in the middle.
Purdue has the pieces for a NCAA Tournament run. It starts with this offense, which is one of the most efficient in the nation.
5. Baylor Bears
The Baylor Bears play carelessly sometimes. However, the offense can flat-out shoot. Baylor gets to the foul line at a high rate and adds a ton of offensive rebounds. They've also hit about 40% of three-point shots this season.
If you're betting on the Bears in the NCAA Tournament, you've just got to hold your breath that Baylor matches up against teams that don't force many turnovers. That's the only area that will force a collapse.
