2024 March Madness Rankings: Power Ranking All 32 Teams In The NCAA Tournament
In just two days of college basketball, we've gone from 64 teams to 32 teams in the NCAA Tournament.
That means we're headed to the second round of the tournament. Therefore, after watching the first two days, it's time for new power rankings for the Round of 32.
2024 Round of 32 March Madness Power Rankings
1. Connecticut Huskies
UConn's rout of Stetson proves the Huskies are still the best team in the nation.
2. Houston Cougars
Houston returned to form after its ugly loss to Iowa State in the Big 12 Tournament. With the best defense in the nation, Houston could be a problem throughout the tournament.
3. Purdue Boilermakers
The weight is off Purdue's shoulders after adding a 28-point win over Grambling State in the first round.
4. Arizona Wildcats
Arizona started off sluggish against Long Beach State but looked really explosive in the second half of the game.
5. North Carolina Tar Heels
North Carolina added a win over Wagner, 90-62. They're in form heading into the Round of 32.
6. Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee was one of only a couple of SEC schools that looked complete after the Round of 64.
7. Iowa State Cyclones
The Iowa State Cyclones looked really good against South Dakota State early on.
8. Illinois Fighting Illini
I'm not sure Illinois has a weakness after its win over Morehead State on Thursday.
9. Baylor Bears
Baylor couldn't miss in its opening game.
10. Marquette Golden Eagles
Marquette started slow but with Tyler Kolek back, the Golden Eagles looked terrific in the second half to earn a win over Western Kentucky.
11. Creighton Bluejays
Creighton has the team to get into the Final Four this year.
12. Alabama Crimson Tide
The Alabama offense will be fine. It's the defense that will eventually let them down.
13. Duke Blue Devils
Don't give Duke a hard time. That was a hard-fought win over Vermont that pushed them into the Round of 32.
14. Gonzaga Bulldogs
The Bulldogs probably had the most impressive game in the Round of 64. Nobody expected the Bulldogs to blitz McNeese State the way they did.
15. Kansas Jayhawks
The Jayhawks almost let a large lead slip away late against Samford. Kevin McCullar's absence will hurt them eventually.
16. San Diego State Aztecs
There aren't many players better than Jaedon LeDee.
17. Washington State Cougars
The dream season continued for Washington State after knocking off Drake. This team is well-coached.
18. Utah State Aggies
The Utah State Aggies saved the Mountain West's face with a win over TCU. That ended a 10-year game drought of losing in the first round in March Madness.
19. Michigan State Spartans
The Spartans have the talent. But will they have the consistency?
20. Clemson Tigers
Everyone questioned whether Clemson deserved a 6-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Then the Tigers went out and looked like a top-four seed against New Mexico.
21. Northwestern Wildcats
Northwestern has had some big wins throughout the season. They added another one over last year's Cinderella, Florida Atlantic.
22. Texas Longhorns
Texas' defense looked stronger than expected over Colorado State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
23. Texas A&M Aggies
OK. If the Aggies continue to shoot lights out from the field, nobody is beating them.
24. Oregon Ducks
Oregon scored 87 points to knock out South Carolina in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
25. Colorado Buffaloes
The Buffaloes need some defense. But the offense was insane against Florida.
26. North Carolina State Wolfpack
The North Carolina State Wolfpack keeps on winning. After earning an ACC Championship, they've moved on into the Round of 32.
27. Dayton Flyers
Dayton used a ridiculous comeback late against Nevada to advance to the next round.
28. James Madison Dukes
James Madison now has two wins over the Big Ten this season.
29. Grand Canyon Antelopes
A 30-win season for Grand Canyon proves just how good the Antelopes really are.
30. Duquesne Dukes
Duquesne had the right mindset heading into their showdown against BYU. They'll need to keep slowing down the pace to be successful.
31. Yale Bulldogs
Yale's upset against Auburn might've been more impressive than Oakland's upset over Kentucky.
32. Oakland Grizzlies
Oakland doesn't want to be a Cinderella. But they're still the worst of the best heading into the Round of 32.
