2025 March Madness Power Rankings
1. Duke Blue Devils
Duke has lost one game since November 26 and won the ACC Championship without Cooper Flagg.
2. Florida Gators
The Gators won the SEC, winning three straight games by a margin of at least nine points.
3. Houston Cougars
Houston has just one loss since the start of December.
4. Auburn Tigers
Two weeks ago, Auburn would've been No. 1. But after three losses in their last four games, the Tigers don't deserve a top-three spot.
5. Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee has one of the best defenses in the nation but has been consistent enough on offense to be a top-five team.
6. St. John's Red Storm
The St. John's Red Storm lead the nation in defensive adjusted efficiency.
7. Michigan State Spartans
Is Tom Izzo one of the only legendary coaches to find success during the NIL era?
8. Texas Tech Red Raiders
Texas Tech can hang with anyone offensively.
9. Alabama Crimson Tide
So can Alabama, but the defense isn't as good as Tech's.
10. Iowa State Cyclones
Iowa State lost four of its last seven games heading into March Madness. They're balanced and able to go far, but won't have one of their top scorers in Gilbert.

11. Wisconsin Badgers
It's important to hit free throws in the NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, Wisconsin leads the nation, hitting 82.8% of foul shots this year.
12. Maryland Terrapins
Maryland has one of the best freshman in America in Derik Queen.
13. Arizona Wildcats
Arizona is balanced with plenty of experience on the roster.
14. Gonzaga Bulldogs
Gonzaga is the most underrated team in the nation after earning a West Coast Conference title over Saint Mary's.
15. Clemson Tigers
Clemson made it into the Elite Eight last year. This team can do exactly that again this year.
16. Kentucky Wildcats
It sounds like Lamont Butler will play for the Wildcats in the Round of 64.
17. Missouri Tigers
Missouri lost four of its last five games after starting the season 15-3.
18. Texas A&M Aggies
The Aggies have shot a 47.5% effective field goal percentage, but have also earned 42% of offensive rebounds per game this year.
19. Michigan Wolverines
After three consecutive losses in the regular season, Michigan added three straight wins to win the Big Ten Tournament.
20. Louisville Cardinals
Louisville's 27-7 record should've yielded them better than an eight-seed.
21. BYU Cougars
The Cougars couldn't get by Houston in the Big 12 Tournament but won nine straight before that game.
22. Illinois Fighting Illini
Illinois defeated Purdue on March 7 and is ahead of Purdue in the rankings.
23. Purdue Boilermakers
Purdue has allowed teams to shoot 56.4% from inside the arc this year. They miss Zach Edey.
24. Kansas Jayhawks
At least Kansas has Bill Self. You never know!
25. Saint Mary's Gaels
Saint Mary's has absolutely dominated the glass this year. They'll need to prove themselves against tougher opponents.
26. Ole Miss Rebels
The Rebels lost five of their last eight games, but at least Ole Miss rarely turns the ball over.
27. UCLA Bruins
UCLA's travel was a bit much during their first season in the Big Ten. With less travel and a neutral court, UCLA could be dangerous.
28. Marquette Golden Eagles
It never hurts to have Shaka Smart as your head coach in March.
29. Oregon Ducks
The Oregon Ducks, like UCLA, had a difficult road into the NCAA Tournament. But Oregon adapted and won eight games before losing to Michigan State in the Big Ten Tournament.
30. UConn Huskies
The Huskies likely won't three-peat this season.
31. North Carolina Tar Heels
We'll debate forever if North Carolina deserved to be in the NCAA Tournament. That said, they're certainly better than half the field analytically.
32. Georgia Bulldogs
The Georgia Bulldogs had a stretch where they lost nine of 11 games. However, they've also had multiple stretches with four consecutive wins. A game against Gonzaga to start the tournament isn't ideal, though.
33. UC San Diego Tritons
34. Creighton Bluejays
35. VCU Rams
36. Oklahoma Sooners
37. Mississippi State Bulldogs
38. Baylor Bears
39. Arkansas Razorbacks
40. Memphis Tigers
41. New Mexico Lobos
42. Utah State Aggies
43. Vanderbilt Commodores
44. Xavier Musketeers
45. Texas Longhorns

46. Colorado State Rams
47. San Diego State Aztecs
48. Drake Bulldogs
49. McNeese State Cowboys
50. Liberty Flames
51. Yale Bulldogs
52. Lipscomb Bisons
53. High Point Panthers
54. Grand Canyon Antelopes
55. Troy Trojans
56. Akron Zips
57. UNC Wilmington Seahawks
58. Wofford Terriers
59. Robert Morris Colonials
60. Bryant Bulldogs
61. Nebraska Omaha Mavericks
62. Montana Grizzlies
63. Norfolk State Spartans
64. SIU Edwardsville Cougars
65. American Eagles
66. Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers
67. Alabama State Hornets
68. Saint Francis (PA) Red Flash
