The women’s Final Four is finally here, and UConn remains the title favorite at -160, but the market is giving the Huskies far less breathing room than it did before the tournament began. At one point, UConn was priced like a near-certainty, but an all-No. 1 seed Final Four has kept the path difficult and the odds more honest. A perfect 38-0 record still puts the Huskies clearly on top, yet they now have to beat two elite opponents they have not seen this season to finish the job.
That is what makes this weekend so compelling. UConn is -6.5 against South Carolina in Friday’s semifinal, while Texas is a slim -1.5 favorite over UCLA in the other national semifinal. Texas already owns a double-digit win over UCLA from November and also beat South Carolina by double digits in the SEC championship, which is why the Longhorns feel like the most dangerous challenger if the bracket lines up that way.

Women's NCAA Tournament Champion Odds Breakdown
UConn Huskies (-160)
UConn has looked every bit like the best team in the country. The Huskies are 38-0, riding a 54-game winning streak, and reached the Final Four by steamrolling their tournament competition, including a 70-52 Elite Eight win over Notre Dame. They have won their NCAA tournament games by an average margin of more than 30 points, and the combination of Sarah Strong, Azzi Fudd, and rising freshman depth has made them look relentless on both ends.
The biggest question is simply level of opponent. UConn has not faced South Carolina, Texas, or UCLA this season, and those are clearly the toughest matchups left. Still, this team has been so dominant and so balanced that it is hard not to see why it remains odds-on. If Strong continues to play like the best all-around player in the field and Fudd gives them another big scoring punch, the Huskies are still the team everyone has to beat.
Texas Longhorns (+480)
Texas may have the strongest challenger case of anyone left. The Longhorns are coming off a 77-41 demolition of Michigan in the Elite Eight and have now reached their second straight Final Four. Madison Booker led that win with 19 points, while Rori Harmon and Kyla Oldacre helped Texas overwhelm Michigan with defense, rebounding, and interior control. This team has looked fast, physical, and disciplined all tournament.
The most interesting thing about Texas is the résumé against common-level competition. The Longhorns beat UCLA by 11 points back in November, and they also beat South Carolina twice this season, including a double-digit win in the SEC title game. That does not guarantee anything now, but it does support the idea that Texas may be the team most capable of upsetting UConn if both favorites advance. Among the plus-money options, Texas has a very real case.
UCLA Bruins (+500)
UCLA is right there with Texas in the market, which makes sense because the Bruins still have one of the highest ceilings left in the field. Their path to Phoenix included a 70-58 Elite Eight win over Duke, and as usual, Lauren Betts has been central to everything they do. When UCLA can play through her size and finish efficiently inside, the Bruins look like a team capable of beating anyone.
The issue is that the semifinal matchup is uncomfortable. Texas already beat UCLA earlier this season, and the Longhorns are favored again here for a reason. UCLA still has the kind of star power and interior dominance that can flip a one-game setting, but it probably has less margin for error than the other three teams. If Betts controls the paint and UCLA can avoid letting Texas speed the game up too much, the Bruins absolutely have a shot to change the whole championship picture.
South Carolina Gamecocks (+600)
South Carolina enters as the third choice on the board, and the Gamecocks absolutely have the profile to ruin UConn’s perfect season. They advanced with a 78-52 win over TCU in the Elite Eight, powered by Joyce Edwards’ 24 points and 12 rebounds, and this is now their sixth straight Final Four. The talent, size, and physicality are all championship caliber, and Dawn Staley’s teams are never going to be rattled by the stage.
The concern is that South Carolina gets the hardest possible semifinal draw. UConn has been flattening everyone, and the Huskies are deservedly favored. But if South Carolina can turn this into a half-court, possession-by-possession game and make UConn deal with its frontline depth, the Gamecocks have the tools to pull the upset. If they do, they would head into Sunday with very real momentum and a clear path to cashing this number.
