The men’s Final Four Most Outstanding Player race is shaping up exactly how you would expect with the national title odds. Michigan (+150) and Arizona (+180) are the two clear favorites to cut down the nets, and that is why their stars dominate this board. The semifinal between those two on Saturday night is essentially being treated like the unofficial title game, with Michigan a razor-thin -1.5 favorite. If the Wolverines win it all, Yaxel Lendeborg at +270 is the obvious front-runner. If Arizona survives and finishes the job, the Wildcats have multiple candidates live in this market.
On the other side, Illinois (+450) is a slim -2.5 favorite over UConn (+650) in the second semifinal. Illinois lost to UConn earlier in the season, but the Illini are playing much better now and have one of the most explosive offenses left in the field. That makes Keaton Wagler (+750) a real threat to steal this award if Illinois wins the title, while Tarris Reed Jr. (+1300) would likely be UConn’s path if the Huskies grind out two more wins behind their interior dominance.

Yaxel Lendeborg, Michigan (+270)
Lendeborg has been the best player in the tournament so far, which is why he sits on top of this board. Michigan’s veteran transfer star just dropped 27 points in a 95-62 demolition of Tennessee in the Elite Eight, and he has looked like the steadiest force on the floor every time the Wolverines have needed one. Michigan is now in the Final Four for the first time since 2018, and with the Wolverines also leading the title market, his path to this award is very clean. If Michigan wins two more games, it is hard to picture anyone else on that roster taking this from him.
His appeal in this market is also tied to role clarity. Michigan is deep, but Lendeborg is the centerpiece. He gives them scoring, rebounding, toughness, and late-game control, and those are exactly the traits that typically define Most Outstanding Player winners. Arizona is a brutal semifinal draw, but if he outplays that loaded Wildcats front line and then leads Michigan to a title, this number will look like a bargain.
Brayden Burries, Arizona (+650)
Burries is probably the best value among Arizona’s trio because of how central he has been as a scorer. He put up 21 points in the Sweet 16 win over Arkansas and followed that up with another huge showing in the Elite Eight as Arizona beat Purdue 79-64 to reach the Final Four. He is also Arizona’s season scoring leader at 16.1 points per game, which matters in a market that often leans toward the most visible offensive engine on the championship team.
If Arizona wins it all, Burries has a real shot to be the face of that run. The Wildcats are loaded enough that the vote could split, but his combination of shot creation and star power stands out. The biggest obstacle is that Arizona first has to get through Michigan in what should be a close semifinal, and then likely beat Illinois or UConn. Still, if Burries delivers one more 20-point game Saturday and another in the title game, he is right there.
Keaton Wagler, Illinois (+750)
Wagler is the obvious Illinois pick if the Illini cut down the nets. The freshman guard leads the team at 17.9 points per game, and his downhill style is exactly what makes Illinois so dangerous when the offense is humming. He is the player who drives to the rack, puts pressure on the rim, and bends defenses until the rest of Illinois’ spacing opens up. In a title path where the Illini would likely need to beat both UConn and then Michigan or Arizona, a huge Wagler weekend is easy to imagine.
The reason his odds are longer than Lendeborg’s is mostly team context. Illinois is only the fourth favorite left to win it all, and this semifinal against UConn is tight. But the ceiling is there. If Illinois gets revenge on the Huskies and Wagler is the one attacking the paint and producing the signature offensive moments, he would immediately become one of the favorites heading into Monday night.
Jaden Bradley, Arizona (+850)
Bradley is the veteran stabilizer on an Arizona team full of star freshmen, and that gives him a sneaky case in this market. He is the Wildcats’ season leader in assists at 4.4 per game, and his fingerprints are all over Arizona’s offense when they are at their best. In the Elite Eight and Sweet 16, he helped orchestrate the attack while the younger stars piled up points, and that kind of floor-command role can suddenly become much more visible on Final Four weekend.
Bradley’s path to winning this award likely requires a big semifinal. If he is the player who controls tempo, hits timely shots, and guides Arizona past Michigan, the narrative could flip in his favor quickly. He may not have the raw scoring totals of Burries or the prospect buzz of Peat, but if voters see him as the veteran who held the whole operation together in two huge wins, +850 is not crazy at all.
Koa Peat, Arizona (+1000)
Peat might be Arizona’s most physically dominant player left in the tournament, and his recent form makes him very live despite the longer number. He scored 21 points against Arkansas and then 20 points in the Elite Eight win over Purdue, where he was also named the West Region Most Outstanding Player. When Arizona needs interior force, transition finishing, and sheer power, Peat is the one delivering it.
If Arizona wins the national championship, Peat absolutely has a path to this award because his impact pops so clearly in big games. He has the kind of stat line that voters remember, and his inside scoring gives Arizona something unique compared with the rest of the field. The challenge is simply sharing spotlight with Burries and Bradley, but if he has another monster game on Saturday and dominates the title game interior battle, +1000 could age very well.
Tarris Reed Jr., UConn (+1300)
Reed is the UConn option because he has been the one player consistently keeping the Huskies afloat when the perimeter game has gone cold. He leads the team in both points (14.7) and rebounds (8.8) on the season, and his low-post presence has become even more valuable during this tournament as UConn has had stretches of serious outside shooting trouble. If the Huskies win two more rock-fight games, Reed is the player most likely to be at the center of it.
The reason his odds are longer is that UConn is only the fourth team in the championship market and enters the semifinal as the underdog. But that also creates upside. If Reed powers UConn past Illinois and then does the same against Michigan or Arizona, the story would be obvious: the big man who carried the Huskies through the most physical weekend of the season. Among the longshots here, he has a very real path.
