Dalton Smith (11-0, 9 KOs)

Turning professional in May of 2019, Smith has been amongst the most active boxers in the world having fought 11 times since, winning all of them and picking up nine knockouts along the way. In just his eighth professional fight, Smith picked up his first belt, the vacant English super lightweight title against Lee Appleyard.

In his next bout, Smith picked up his second bout in the WBA intercontinental super-lightweight title, defending both in the time since. The last time we saw him in the ring, just two months ago, his opponent Mauro Perouene’s corner threw in the towel after taking a beating for just six rounds.

Sam O'maison (17-3-1, 7 KOs)

At 31 years old, O’maison has fought just one time outside of England, a 2017 loss to Luca Ciacon in Spain. Since then, O’maison has accrued a record of 3-1-1 with his most recent win coming in May against Serge Abomo.

Known for volume more than power, O’maison has not recorded a KO/TKO win since 2018, worth noting against a fighter in Smith who will no doubt be going for the KO. If O’maison can’t settle in early in this fight, look for Smith to pick his punches early and often, setting up a vicious KO/TKO in the later rounds as O’maison lacks the power to counter accordingly.

Dalton Smith vs Sam O'maison Odds

This one opened up at a steep -2500 in favor of the champion Smith, with O’Maison opening in the +800 range nearly across the board.

Since then, things have gotten even more out of hand, with Smith reaching as high as -3000 at some sportsbooks, and O’Maison getting all the way up to +1300. For those looking to back the favorite, BetMGM currently has the best number posted at -2500, while underdog backers would be best suited to head to FanDuel +1300.

The over/under might be the more manageable and actionable play in this fight, however, currently sitting at 5.5 and evenly priced on both sides. William Hill has the best number on both sides, sitting at
