While Canelo vs. GGG 3 will make most of the headlines Saturday in the boxing world, there is another fight happening in the UK that should be a strong one. In this one, two light heavyweights in Lyndon Arthur and Walter Gabriel Sequeira will step into the ring at the University of Bolton Stadium just outside Manchester.

For the hometown favorite, Arthur, he’ll be looking to bounce back following the first loss of his career last year vs. Anthony Yarde; a fight in which he lost his Commonwealth light heavyweight belt. Will the underdog shock the world and hand Arthur his second straight loss?

Lyndon Arthur (19-1, 13 KOs)

Turning professional in 2016, Arthur ran through the Manchester boxing seen, winning nine of his first 10 fights inside of the distance. The toughest fight of his career came in December 2020, a split decision win over Anthony Yarde in London which won him the vacant WBO Inter-Continental light-heavyweight title. 

Almost a year to the day later, Yarde then handed Arthur his first defeat, a fourth-round KO back in London. Having now taken nearly a year off, Arthur will step back into the ring against what he likely sees as a lay-up opponent, as a trilogy vs. Yarde almost certainly lies around the corner.

Having received praise from fellow Manchester legend Ricky Hatton, expectations remain sky high for Arthur and all the pressure is on him for this clash in his hometown. 

Walter Gabriel Sequeira (25-9-1, 17 KOs)

As for ‘El Yacare’ Sequeira, he comes into this fight playing with house money as no one expects the 35-year-old Argentina native to be able to pull this one off. His 17 KO wins tell a different story, however, and Arthur will surely have to be at his best in order to avoid Sequeira's heavy right hand.

Despite most of his fights happening in his home of Argentina, Sequeira comes into this fight with a reputation of a guy that likes to brawl; in which case quite literally anything can happen. If Arthur is not careful, he’ll be handed his second loss in a row, something that will take years to bounce back from.

This fight opened with Arthur the heavy -2000 favorite, and Sequeira the +750 underdog, and the money has been one-sided since. As of Friday, Arthur has ballooned to a -3000 favorite across the board, with the best number currently on Sequeira (+1300) coming at FanDuel.
