Hasim Rahman Jr. vs. Greg Hardy Odds: Can the Favorite Greg Hardy Win the Bout?

The main event for the next Misfits Boxing event in Austin, Texas this Saturday has changed, with a (new) former UFC fighter now taking center stage. The bout between Hasim Rahman Jr. and Greg Hardy has been added to the card because former UFC heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort is unable to compete. MMA Fighting broke the news of Belfort's withdrawal first. Right now, it's unknown why Belfort withdrew.

Rahman Jr. (12-1) and Hardy (1-0) weighed exactly 100 pounds less than each other in their most recent fights, 224 pounds vs 324 pounds, but the four-round fight will take place at heavyweight. Misfits Boxing 3 will take place at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas, on Saturday, and it will be streamed on DAZN.

Let’s take a closer look at both fighters and where the odds are headed going into this fight.

Rahman Jr. vs. Hardy Start Time and Where to Watch

When: Saturday, November 19, 2022

Time: 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT

Where: Moody Center, Austin, Texas

Where to Watch: DAZN

Hasim Rahman Jr. (12-1, 6 KOs)

Rahman comes into the fight off of his first career defeat, a TKO in the fifth round against James McKenzie Morrison in April. In August, he had a bout scheduled at Madison Square Garden against Jake Paul.

Rahman Jr. was allegedly overweight and had no plans to lose weight, thus Paul's Most Valuable Promotions decided to call off the event. Rahman Jr. held his own unauthorized weigh-in to make a point following the cancellation, but he still fell short of the target weight by 1.6 pounds.

Greg Hardy (1-0, 1 KO)

In October, Hardy, 34, overcame Michael Cook through second-round TKO to win his first fight as a professional boxer. Following his termination from the UFC in March due to the expiration of his contract, he then entered the world of boxing.

Hardy was an NFL defensive end who made the Pro Bowl before joining the UFC, but there were other disputes throughout his tenure, including accusations of spousal abuse. While the verdict is still very much out on how things will go in boxing, this will be the first real test of Hardy’s boxing career.

Hasim Rahman Jr. vs Greg Hardy Odds

While the odds have yet to be released for this one, many think that Greg Hardy will be the favorite given his experience fighting at the highest level of MMA. For Rahman Jr., he comes into this one on the heels of a loss, a vicious TKO in April at the hands of James McKenzie Morrison. Though odds might be sparse given the last-minute nature of this fight, expect Hardy to open as the favorite and stay there as this one gets closer to the opening bell.
