Not since November 2020 has Figueredo fought someone not named Brandon Moreno, as the 35-year-old has passed the belt back and forth with him now twice. Prior to that, Figueredo had won the belt in February 2020 from Joseph Benavidez, defending two times before losing it to Moreno. 

Coming into this fight, Figueredo has the edges in striking, with a 3x advantage in knockdowns landed and a 16% advantage in striking accuracy. He does, however, absorb slightly more shots at 3.53 per minute. 

Brandon Moreno (20-6-2)

Unlike Figueredo, Moreno actually has fought someone else in the time since this rivalry started. In July, Moreno went three rounds with Kai Kara-France, crippling him with a body shot in round three to secure his first title defense against someone that wasn’t Figueredo.

Coming into this fight, while Moreno does trail slightly in striking, he has the edge across the board on the ground in terms of takedown averages and takedown accuracy. He also boasts a better takedown defense by more than 10%.
