UFC 298 in Anaheim, California, goes off Saturday evening and while some PPVs as of late have been top-heavy, this one features great fights from top to bottom. At the very top, Alexander Volkanovski will look to retain his featherweight strap against the red-hot (and undefeated) Ilia Topuria. Just before that, a pair of middleweight contenders in Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa will square off in a fight with certain title implications.
Before we get to either, however, the second fight on the main card is the one I am personally most interested in. With the winner surely in line for a bantamweight title shot, Merab Dvalishvili will take on Henry Cejudo in a bout I have had circled for months.
Let’s take a closer look at the odds, each fighter’s recent form, and who I like to walk out of the octagon with their hand raised come Saturday night.

When the odds market opened up for this bantamweight clash, Merab was a -160 favorite, with the lower-ranked “Triple C” Cejudo listed at +140. Since then, the favorite has attracted the majority of the action, currently sitting over -200 across the board with Cejudo listed around +180.

Merab Dvalishvili vs. Henry Cejudo UFC 298 Prediction
Merab Dvalishvili (16-4-0)
Joining the UFC in 2017, with consecutive losses, Dvalishvili has looked steadily better each time out picking up nine straight wins coming into this fight. In his biggest win today, Dvalishvili took Petr Yan five rounds to cement himself as a real contender in this division. Fortunately for him, his good friend Aljamain Sterling lost the bantamweight belt late last year, paving the way for a win here to set himself squarely in the title conversation.

Henry Cejudo (16-3-0)
“Triple C” came out of a three-year retirement in May, stepping straight into the fire and taking on the champ Sterling for the bantamweight strap. While he fell just short, losing a tight split decision, he confirmed he still had what it takes to compete at the very highest levels of the sport.
Merab Dvalishvili vs. Henry Cejudo Pick
The former bantamweight champ Cejudo I think is being massively disrespected in this number, as the Gold medalist wrestler is still one of the best the division has ever seen. If he can avoid strikes early, look for Cejudo to out grapple his opponent in this one and cruise to victory.
