Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan Odds: Weili Given 84% Chance to Win UFC 300

Looking for Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan odds? We got you covered!

The historic UFC 300 card is now just days away, as there are 13 fights that could be main events most weeks for fight fans to feast on. In the co-main event, history is upon us as Zhang Weili will defend her strawweight strap against challenger Yan Xiaonan in the first all-Chinese championship in professional MMA history.

While most eyes are on the BMF and light heavyweight title fights, this one has all the makings of a great fight as well. Let’s take a closer look at how the odds have landed in the market, both competitors' recent form, and who I like to walk away with the women’s strawweight belt.

Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan Odds - UFC 300

As expected, when the betting got underway for this one, the champion Weili was listed as the heavy -375 favorite with her challenger listed at +260. Since then, more money has poured in on the champ, as she now sits as high as -550 with her opponent sitting around +375.

Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan at UFC 300

Zhang Weili (24-3-0)

For the second time, Weili became champion of the strawweight division to end 2022, reclaiming the belt from Carla Esparza. Since then, she has defended it once, a decision win over Amanda Lemos at UFC 292 in August. With a record of 8-2 in the UFC, Weili can stamp her name in the history books even more firmly with another defense on Saturday night.

Yan Xiaonan (18-3-0)

In Weili’s way stands fellow countryman Xiaonan, who has been in the UFC even longer than Weili, but whose path has been a bit more windy. She was on a six-fight win streak to start her UFC career, before running into Esparza in May of 2021. Losing to Esparza, she then lost to Marina Rodriguez before getting back on track. Following wins over Mackenzie Dern and Jessica Andrade, Xionan will get her first shot at the belt in this one.

Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan Prediction

For my money, Weili is quietly making her case to be discussed amongst the best women to ever put on the UFC gloves. Her .36 knockdowns per 15 minutes in the octagon is 3x that of her opponent, as is the 2.29 takedowns she averages. I think we see Weili put together the Hall of Fame-type performance she is capable of in this one.
