The wait is finally over!
The most hyped athlete in mixed martial arts will return to the octagon on June 29.
Conor McGregor will headline UFC 303 with a matchup against Michael Chandler in Las Vegas. This fight has been in the works for a very long time, but UFC's Dana White finally announced it after a very successful UFC 300 event.
The fight will also be at 170 lbs.
McGregor hasn't fought since July 2021. In that fight, McGregor broke his leg and lost to Dustin Poirier.
Once McGregor recovered, he coached against Chandler in "The Ultimate Fighter" in 2023. The plan was that these two would fight against one another after the reality show was completed.

While it's super exciting to see Conor McGregor back in action, we can't forget that McGregor has only one UFC win since 2016.
He's also fought just four times since 2016, along with a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
On the other hand, Michael Chandler hasn't fought since UFC 281 after losing to Poirier at UFC 281 due to a submission in 2022, but he certainly has more time in the octagon since 2016.
It would be wise to note that this fight will be a five-round fight. That said, does McGregor have the stamina to compete a full five rounds? Is McGregor just doing this for another payday?
What if Chandler can get McGregor on the ground and tire him out? Chandler's an outstanding wrestler and can take advantage of McGregor in that area.
However, McGregor is known for his precise punches, and Chandler doesn't always protect himself in those instances.
This fight could really go either way, depending on the aggressor.
I'll take my chances with Chandler. I don't know if I trust McGregor just yet. If you can get Chandler at +100 or even better, grab it.
