The UFC returns to Perth, Australia for the third time this Saturday, as UFC 305 kicks off at 10 am local time Down Under. At the top of the card, the middleweight belt will be on the line, as two Africans Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya face off after their long-held grudge. 

With great fights from top to bottom, the UFC 305 card displays some of the best talent Austrailia has to offer. That includes the second fight of the main card, as Aussie Tai Tuivasa takes on fellow heavyweight Jarizinho Rozentruik in one of the more intriguing matchups of the night.

Tai Tuivasa (15-7-0)

At one point considered a legitimate heavyweight contender, things have slid out of control for Tuivasa in terms as results, as he now comes into this fight on a four fight slide. Prior to the current losing streak, Tuivasa had picked up five straight wins, all finished within two rounds including a second-round KO of Derrick Lewis. Fortunately, Tuivasa has been able to avoid any serious damage in hist last two fights, both ending within two rounds via submission; a rarity at this weight class. 

Jairzinho Rozenstruik (14-5-0)

Joining the UFC in 2019, Rozenstruik started his stint with the promotion with four straight wins before running into Francis Ngannou in 2020. A first round loss, Rozenstruik rebounded quickly against Junior dos Santos, before losing to Ciryl Gane four months later by decision. Going 3-2 in the time since, all three of Rozenstruik’s wins have come inside the distance, including a fourth round win over Shamil Gaziev back in March.

Despite his setbacks over the past couple of years, Tuivasa remains just 31 years old and still has all the tools in his arsenal to pick up wins in this weight class. A loss here would be devastating, however, to an aging Rozenstruik with not much in the way of a future in the division. I think we see a motivated Tuivasa get this one done, relatively early.
