5 Minute ReadDana White's Contender Series Odds: Season 9 Betting Card for Episode 1 on Tuesday, August 12th
Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) has been a proving ground where rising MMA prospects fight for a UFC contract. Past success stories include Sean O’Malley and Jamahal Hill, both of whom broke through by delivering highlight-reel performances on the Contender Series before going on to championship-level success in the UFC.
The show is structured as a compact, high-stakes showcase: each episode features five non-televised professional bouts, and afterward, Dana White (sometimes with input from his team) decides who earns UFC contracts. Fighters typically need to deliver finishes—or stand out dramatically—to secure a deal.
It gives regional standouts a fast-track opportunity: if they can impress, they get signed immediately. Even fighters who don't get contracts may later be called up as UFC replacements. The format emphasizes urgency and excitement with limited fluff, because every fight carries real stakes. Let's see take a look at each fight on the Dana White's Contender Series Episode 1 card tonight.

Christopher Ewert vs. Yuri Panferov Odds
- Moneyline: Ewert (-152), Panferov (+128)
Ewert (7–0) was briefly signed to the UFC but lost the contract after missing weight for his debut. Now he gets another shot on DWCS. Panferov (8–1) previously lost on DWCS via submission but has since rebounded with two KO victories. Ewert delivers KO power and finishing instinct. Panferov is a submission-oriented grappler with decent striking. Ewert looks sharper and hungrier. Expect a UFC contract clincher, but note that this line fell down from Ewert at -210 odds to -152 during the morning today.

George Mangos vs. Radley Da Silva Odds
- Moneyline: Mangos (-130), Da Silva (+110)
Mangos (7–0) is a young, dynamic Aussie with both submission and KO finishes. Da Silva (7–1), a seasoned champion from Canada, brings experience and diverse fight outcomes. Mangos offers well-rounded grappling and striking. Da Silva has solid groundwork and fight IQ. Mangos has the edge in youth, pace, and versatility.

Baysangur Susurkaev vs. Murtaza Talha Odds
- Moneyline: Susurkaev (-390), Talha (+310)
Susurkaev (8–0, 7 KOs) is a knockout specialist, though he’s stepping in on short notice. Talha (with a previous DWCS loss) has a sketchy track record since then. Susurkaev brings raw finishing power; Talha is more unpredictable with some submission skills but questionable gas tank. Heavy favorite Susurkaev has the clear advantage.

Ty Miller vs. Jimmy Drago Odds
- Moneyline: Miller (-195), Drago (+165)
Miller (5–0) and Drago (7–2) both enter off no-contests. Miller is younger, faster and more precise; Drago is experienced with solid clinch instincts. Miller features crisp boxing and power, while Drago uses clinch and pressure to disrupt. Expect striking fireworks, but Miller’s speed and accuracy should prevail.

Ilian Bouafia vs. Neemias Santana Odds
- Moneyline: Bouafia (-168), Santana (+142)
Bouafia (6–0) is a tall, technically gifted kickboxer with early finish rates. Santana (7–2–1) is a pressure fighter coming off a recent KO win. Bouafia uses reach and technique, while Santana relies on power and aggression. Bouafia's striking, reach, and finishing ability give him the upper hand.
