Chimaev enters the main event at 15-0, defending the middleweight title after taking the belt from Dricus Du Plessis, while Strickland comes in at 30-7 with former champion credibility and a recent win over Anthony Hernandez to get back into the title picture. The matchup has carried real animosity throughout fight week, but the tactical split is just as compelling. Chimaev’s wrestling, pressure, and physicality are the foundation of his unbeaten run, while Strickland’s defensive shell, pace, and volume striking give him a path if he can survive the early grappling storm and extend the fight.
The co-main event gives the card another title fight with a very different rhythm.
