How To Watch The Oscars

Hollywood’s big night is finally here. The 2021 Oscars are just one day away and, with its COVID-19 based delay some potential viewers have some questions about where the Oscars are, how to watch them and when they start.

Luckily for you guys, we’re here to break it all down for you before the 93rd Academy Awards get started this weekend. Whether you’re a fan of a certain film or just tuning in to see which actors/actresses impressed this year, let’s break down the details ahead of the show.

When are the Oscars?

You’re probably sitting there asking yourself “When are the Oscars?” and rightfully so. The Oscars are under a bit of a delay this year. Usually, the Academy Awards take place in February, but this year they were pushed to April. The 2021 Oscars are scheduled for Sunday, April 25. That’s right, tomorrow night is the big night for Hollywood and we've got you covered for hwo to watch.

Where are the Oscars?

The show must go on, right? The 2021 Oscars will take place in the same spot the Academy Awards have called home since 2001, the Dolby Theatre at Union Station in Los Angeles, California. Last year’s event took place right before the outbreak of COVID-19 became known in the United States. This year’s award show, the 93rd Academy Awards, will also be seemingly unaffected.

When do the Oscars Start?

The real question isn’t when they start, but rather when do the Oscars end? It seems like every year it gets later and later. Still, this year’s 2021 Oscars get started at 8 pm ET. The Academy Awards are supposed to end by 11 pm ET, but we won’t hold our breath on that one…

What Channel are the Oscars on?

The channel number will depend on where you’re viewing from, but the 2021 Oscars can be found on ABC on Sunday. But, the main event is just part of the show. ABC has coverage throughout the day, starting at 1 pm ET and rolling through the conclusion of the show. That’s almost 12 hours of Oscars content, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Can You Live Stream the Oscars?

The short answer is yes (obviously). The long answer is a bit more involved. There are tons of ways to stream the 2021 Oscars. The first, and most obvious, way to stream it is via But, ABC’s streaming service is only accessible by entering your paid cable provider log-in info.

You can also stream the Oscars through a bunch of different Live TV streaming services. Providers like Hulu, Fubo and YouTube all provide a live TV option that will allow you to get the Oscars on Sunday night.
