We've finally arrived at Championship Weekend in college football. That means the regular season has come to a close and we're just a few days away from seeing the CFP committee's final version of the College Football Playoff bracket. That also means we're just a few days away from not having to hear Big Ten fans swear to us that their conference is on par with the SEC while a .500 Michigan team embarrasses Ohio State and Illinois leaves every week looking like a juggernaut against the likes of Michigan State and Northwestern.

This weekend we have NINE championship games in front of us, all with varying importance when it comes to the College Football Playoff. Still, whether or not these teams will continue on in a quest for a National Championship after this week, for a lot of these players this will be the peak of their football career.

With so much on the line, we're taking emotion and bias out of the picture and letting our oddschecker+ AI pick the games for us. College Football Championship Weekend Cheat Sheet

Western Kentucky vs. Jacksonville State - Conference USA Championship

We've seen most of these teams play each other earlier in the season. UNLV vs. Boise State, Georgia vs. Texas, Miami (OH) vs. Ohio, they're all rematches. But in this case, we saw Western Kentucky and Jacksonville State play literally a week ago. In that one, it was Western Kentucky that came out on top, 19-17, thanks to a late Lucas Carneiro 50-yard field goal. Still, that result hasn't stopped sportsbooks from making Jax State a 4.5-point favorite. Taking all that into consideration, the oddschecker+ AI is still riding with Western Kentucky, giving the Hilltoppers a 53% probability of winning the Conference USA Championship.

Oddschecker+ Conference USA Champion Prediction: Western Kentucky (53% AI Probability)

UNLV vs. Boise State - Mountain West Championship

  • Date: Friday, December 6
  • Time: 8:00 pm ET
  • Where to Watch: FOX
  • Point Spread: Boise State -4

When UNLV and Boise State met in the regular season, you could make an argument that it was UNLV that left that game having played the best football. However, it was a late TD from Heisman hopeful Ashton Jeanty that sealed the game for the Broncos as they went on to finish an unbeaten season in Mountain West play. Now, Boise State is a 4-point favorite against Hajj-Malik Williams and the Runnin' Rebels and the oddschecker+ AI is riding with the Broncos as well. The 74% AI probability for a Boise State win is the largest probability percentage for any outcome of all nine games. The computer loves Boise State in this one.

Oddschecker+ Mountain West Champion Prediction: Boise State (74% AI Probability)

Tulane vs. Army - AAC Championship

  • Date: Friday, December 6
  • Time: 8:00 pm ET
  • Where to Watch: ABC
  • Point Spread: Tulane -5

The second biggest spread on Championship Weekend comes to us from the AAC Championship Game as the Tulane Green Wave takes on the Army Black Knights. Both teams suffered crushing losses last week with Tulane falling to Memphis and Army getting dominated by Notre Dame. The oddschecker+ AI is riding with Tulane in this one with a whopping 73% probability they win outright. If they do win, this will be a season of "what if?" for Tulane as a win against Memphis may have seen them sneak into the CFP.

Oddschecker+ AAC Champion Prediction: Tulane (73% AI Probability)

Arizona State vs. Iowa State - Big 12 Championship

  • Date: Saturday, December 7
  • Time: Noon ET
  • Where to Watch: ABC
  • Point Spread: Arizona State -1

Perhaps the most intriguing matchup of Championship Weekend in college football comes to us from the Big 12 Championship game as Arizona State takes on Iowa State. There was a chance that like six different teams from BYU and Colorado to Texas Tech and Kansas State could have been playing in this one, but the Sun Devils and Cyclones wrapped up their spots last week. This game has a spot in the College Football Playoffs on the line as the winner will lock up a bid as one of the five highest-ranked conference champs. Cam Skattebo, and Sam Leavitt look poised to take down the Cyclones and despite just a one-point spread from bookmakers, the oddschecker+ AI has Arizona State with a 65% probability to win outright.

Ohio vs. Miami (OH) - MAC Championship

  • Date: Saturday, December 7
  • Time: Noon ET
  • Where to Watch: ESPN
  • Point Spread: Miami (OH) -2

Our final bit of MACtion in the 2024 season comes to us in another rematch as the Ohio Bobcats take on the Miami (OH) RedHawks in the MAC title game. In their first meeting, Miami (OH) delivered the Bobcats their first and only conference loss of the season thanks to 111 yards rushing and a TD from Keyon Mozee and two interceptions from Ohio QB Parker Navarro. Sportsbooks have the RedHawks as 2-point favorites, even though they won the first meeting by 10, but the oddschecker+ AI is going in the opposite direction. Our AI gives this one to Ohio with the Bobcats having a 53% chance of winning.

Oddschecker+ MAC Champion Prediction: Ohio (53% AI Probability)

Georgia vs. Texas - SEC Championship

  • Date: Saturday, December 7
  • Time: 4:00 pm ET
  • Where to Watch: ABC
  • Point Spread: Texas -3

Even though Georgia put a whopping on Texas in the first meeting between these two teams, sportsbooks have Texas as three-point favorites in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. In their regular-season matchup, the Texas offense could barley move the ball. We saw both Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning play QB for the Longhorns but it didn't matter as the Bulldogs won, 30-15. Georgia has played the toughest schedule in the country this season and finished with just two losses. Meanwhile, Texas' schedule was cake and their lone loss to Georgia has made them the No. 2 team in the country. This one is a toss-up, according to our oddschecker+ AI, but the slight edge goes to the Dawgs with a 51% probability of winning.

Oddschecker+ SEC Champion Prediction: Georgia (51% AI Probability)

Marshall vs. Louisiana - Sun Belt Championship

  • Date: Saturday, December 7
  • Time: 7:30 pm ET
  • Where to Watch: ESPN
  • Point Spread: Louisiana -5.5

The biggest spread of Championship Weekend in college football comes to us in the Sun Belt Championship. Louisiana enters this one as a 5.5-point favorite over Marshall. These two teams have yet to meet this season, but both played to a 7-1 record in conference play. QB Ben Woolridge leads the Ragin' Cajuns' quest for a Sun Belt title against a Marshall defense that has struggled of late. Our oddschecker+ AI has a 63% probability that the favorite wins here, predicting Louisiana will lift the trophy on Saturday night.

Oddschecker+ Sun Belt Champion Prediction: Louisiana (63% AI Probability)

Clemson vs. SMU - ACC Championship

  • Date: Saturday, December 7
  • Time: 8:00 pm ET
  • Where to Watch: ABC
  • Point Spread: SMU -2

I forgot Clemson even had a chance to make the College Football Playoff until Miami went down last week to Syracuse and we started to hear from Dabo Swinney again. Despite three regular-season losses, including a drubbing at the hands of Georgia, Clemson finds themselves with the opportunity to clinch a College Football Playoff spot with a win over SMU in the ACC championship. SMU has just one loss on the year, but there has been lots of talk about how easy their schedule was in a bad ACC. Despite all this sportsbooks have SMU as two-point favorites and our oddschecker+ AI agrees. According to the AI, SMU has a 67% chance to win on Saturday and lock up a top-four seed and a bye in the first round of the CFP.

Oddschecker+ ACC Champion Prediction: SMU (67% AI Probability)

Penn State vs. Oregon - Big Ten Championship

  • Date: Saturday, December 7
  • Time: 8:00 pm ET
  • Where to Watch: CBS
  • Point Spread: Oregon -3.5

A week ago, Penn State was ready to take the week off this week before getting a home game in the first round of the College Football Playoff against a team like Arizona State. Now, thanks to an Ohio State loss, they find themselves in the Big Then Championship in a potential nightmare situation. If Penn State goes out there and looks bad in a loss to Oregon in Indy, there's a chance they drop all the way out of the top eight and have to go on the road in Round 1 of the CFP. That means they miss out on a week off and a home game all because Ohio State can't beat Michigan. Oregon is a scary team and the only unbeaten team in the entire country right now. Sportsbooks have the Ducks as 3.5-point favorites and the oddschecker+ AI gives Dillon Gabriel and Oregon a 66% probability of coming out on top Saturday.

Oddschecker+ Big Ten Champion Prediction: Oregon (66% AI Probability)
