Nebraska Next Head Coach: Sportsbooks Give 75% Chance Scott Frost is Fired by End of Season
Most teams haven't even played a college football game this season and we already have our first coach on the hot seat after Nebraska lost to Northwestern this past weekend.
For some reference, Nebraska opened as a 14-point favorite against a Northwestern team expected to have a down year. By kickoff, the spread was out to 12.5, but they were still massive favorites.
The offense looked good at times but in the end, they lost, 31-28, to a team they beat 56-7 a year ago.
Immediately, the loss put head coach Scott Frost on the hot seat. In his time at Nebraska, Frost is a disgusting 15-30 as head coach. Previous head coach Bo Pelini was fired following a 9-3 season. Pelini never won fewer than nine games for the Huskers and was still let go. Since, Frost has never won more than five games in a season.
So, with Scott Frost delivering yet another disappointing loss, sportsbooks have begun to price up different odds related to Frost and the Cornhuskers. And, according to the latest odds, there is a 75% chance Frost is fired before the season ends.

As you can see, the odds that Scott Frost gets fired this season are extremely short. Frost's odds to be fired by Nebraska this season sit at -300, implying a 75% chance that he will be let go by the Cornhuskers.
At +200, his odds of staying imply a 33.3% chance. Personally, I'd be shocked to see him make it past the next few weeks. If Northwestern is too tough for Nebraska, it's going to be a long season in the Big Ten.
There are other odds floating around as well. Frost sits at +140 to be the first FBS football head coach fired and is -190 to be the first coach in the Big Ten to be fired.
