2023 Heisman Watch
Down Goes Caleb Williams!
The USC Trojans almost lost to Arizona at home. It took three overtimes to get the job done. Caleb Williams only threw 14 completions for 219 yards and added one touchdown with no interceptions.
He also ran 12 times for 41 yards but had the worst game of his career with USC. They almost lost.
Meanwhile, Michael Penix Jr. jumped him in the Heisman odds. But he didn't even play last week. Penix Jr. and Washington will take on Oregon this upcoming week. A big performance from Penix Jr. against Oregon would help him immensely.
Dillon Gabriel's Jump (+1200) (Bet $100 to collect $1300)
Oklahoma knocked off Texas in the Red River Rivalry.
Dillon Gabriel was the reason why. He added 285 yards passing for a touchdown. But he also earned 113 yards on 14 carries on the ground, averaging 8.1 yards per attempt. Gabriel scored another touchdown on the ground.
Oklahoma is a College Football Playoff contender after that win. Gabriel is in the mix if he can keep up this level of play.
Another Riser: Drake Maye (+1800) (Bet $100 to collect $1900)
Drake Maye wasn't having the best seasons for North Carolina to begin the year. But he changed the narrative last week against Syracuse.
North Carolina dominated Syracuse, 40-7, after Drake Maye threw for 442 yards and three touchdowns.
Maye also added 55 yards on 14 carries and scored another touchdown on the ground.
That was the Maye we've been waiting for. He's now back in the mix with the Tar Heels still undefeated.
