The Heisman race has changed dramatically over the last two weeks. Smith has turned consecutive monster performances into a move all the way to -110, creating legitimate separation from a quarterback group that controlled most of the early market.
Saturday could reshape the race again. Keelon Russell gets the biggest stage against No. 2 Georgia, Arch Manning faces Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry and CJ Carr gets another opportunity to pad his numbers for undefeated Notre Dame. Mensah, meanwhile, has to watch from the sideline with Miami on a bye.

Smith has completely taken over the race after another dominant performance at Iowa, finishing with 11 receptions for 206 yards and two touchdowns in Ohio State's 31-14 road win. That followed a 12-catch, 217-yard, four-touchdown performance against Illinois, giving him 23 catches, 423 yards and six touchdowns over his last two games alone.
The junior now has 44 receptions for 823 yards and nine touchdowns through five games, averaging 18.7 yards per catch and 164.6 receiving yards per game. Ohio State hosts Maryland on Saturday, giving Smith another favorable opportunity to build on the hottest stretch by any player in the country.
Smith was still +750 in the previous update and has now moved into odds-on territory. Another explosive afternoon could make the market increasingly difficult for the quarterback contenders to catch.

Mensah finally had what qualifies as a quieter performance by his standards in Miami's 41-13 win over Clemson, completing 18 of 27 passes for 227 yards and one touchdown while adding 27 rushing yards and another score.
Through five games, Mensah has completed 112 of 133 passes for 1,438 yards, 15 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He is completing 84.2% of his attempts while averaging 10.8 yards per pass and has added 79 rushing yards and two touchdowns for 17 total scores.
Mensah does not get an opportunity to answer Smith this weekend because Miami is off. That creates some market risk with the current favorite and several other contenders playing nationally televised games.

Russell continues to climb after another explosive performance in Alabama's 56-23 win over Mississippi State. He completed 16 of 22 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns while adding 17 rushing yards and another score.
The Alabama quarterback has completed 94 of 132 passes for 1,414 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions through five games. He owns a 71.2% completion rate and has added 184 rushing yards and four touchdowns, giving him 1,598 yards of total offense and 15 total touchdowns.
Saturday could become the defining moment of Russell's campaign. Alabama hosts No. 2 Georgia in one of the biggest games of the season, giving him an opportunity to combine elite production with the type of signature win that can dramatically move a Heisman market.

Carr strengthened his case with another efficient performance for Notre Dame, throwing for 234 yards and four touchdowns while adding another touchdown on the ground in his latest outing. The five total touchdowns were his best scoring performance of the season.
Carr has completed 88 of 124 passes for 1,197 yards, 13 touchdowns and one interception through five games. He is completing 71.0% of his passes and has added 28 rushing yards and three touchdowns, bringing him to 16 total scores.
No. 3 Notre Dame hosts Stanford on Saturday, and this is the type of matchup where Carr needs to dominate statistically. The Irish are expected to control the game, meaning another four- or five-touchdown performance would do far more for his Heisman case than simply adding another win.

Chambliss remains in the race despite Ole Miss' loss at Florida, completing 25 of 34 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown while also rushing for two scores. The production remained strong, but the loss cooled a candidacy that had surged following the win over LSU.
Through four games, Chambliss has completed 102 of 144 passes for 1,222 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions. He is completing 70.8% of his attempts while averaging 305.5 passing yards per game, and he has added 108 rushing yards and four touchdowns for 12 total scores.
Ole Miss visits Vanderbilt on Saturday following its bye week. Chambliss needs a strong bounce-back performance because another SEC loss would make it increasingly difficult to stay connected to the top of the Heisman market.

Manning remains well behind the leaders statistically, but Texas staying undefeated keeps his path to a late-season surge open. His last appearance came in the Longhorns' 20-17 win at Tennessee, where he completed 14 of 19 passes for 201 yards.
Through four games, Manning has completed 73 of 115 passes for 862 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. He is completing 63.5% of his attempts and has added 82 rushing yards on 32 carries.
Saturday gives Manning exactly the stage needed to revive his candidacy. Texas faces Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry, and a big performance in another national rivalry game could quickly shorten the +3200 price even if his overall season production still trails the leading contenders.
