This Stat Will Spoil Jets Fans' Day

There has been a significant amount of chatter during the off season that this could be the year that the New York Jets finish above cross-city rivals the Giants - so will we see the city turn green come 2020?
Well, the oddsmakers have fallen fully in line with the buzz and currently have the Jets at a shorter price to win Super Bowl LIV, the first time that this has happened since 2011. Gang Green can be backed to triumph in NFL's showpiece event in February at a best price of +7000, whilst Big Blue are just beyond at +7500.
However, as many of you will have clocked straight away, the 2011 edition - Super Bowl XLVI - was won by none other than the New York Giants. They were outsiders at the opening of the book and continued to lengthen, reaching a price of +2200 of the eve of the opening weekend. This is in sharp contrast to their plucky rivals, who ended up being deemed nearly twice as likely at +1200.
We're not saying that history is going to repeat itself, Jets fans, but maybe keep those beer hats in their packaging for now...
