Who Won Our Le'Veon Bell Jersey?
You probably remember our competition to win a shiny new Le'Veon Bell jersey for the New York Jets. Across Twitter and Facebook we received lots of entries but in the end one person had to win.
Enter Scott, a diehard Jets fan who has been supporting Gang Green since 1986, who was thrilled to be the lucky winner.
We sat down with Scott to talk about the prize and of course, his hopes for the Jets this year.
How long have you been a Jets fan?
I’ve been a Jets fan since 1986.
What was your first game?Â
I don’t remember. I do remember the best game I went was 9/10 years ago. It was the first year with Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez. It was the last game of the season. Win and we’re in. Brad Smith ran a 109 yard kick off return for a touchdown. I remember it because he lost his shoe about 50 yards into the return and still scored.
The Jets’ odds of +7500 (best price) to win the Super Bowl are shorter than the Giants for the first time since 2011, although the Giants did go on to win that year. Do you think the Jets will have NY bragging rights come the end of the season?
The Jets will have a better season than the Giants. I don’t think a Super Bowl run, maybe a wildcard in the playoffs. 9-7 or 8-8.
If you had to place a bet of $1000 on one thing this season in the NFL, what would it be?
Saquon Barkley will be the rushing leader for the league this year.
Who is your favorite player, past or present?
Curtis Martin. The man was a legend and probably the greatest person in the world. I loved watching him play.
Thank you so much again. I’m still in shock that I won. It’s a beautiful jersey.
