Browns @ 49ers, 8:15 PM ET:

The San Francisco 49ers have opened the season on a three-game winning streak.

Prior to their bye week, the 49ers were led by quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo who threw a five-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Dante Pettis with 1:15 left in the game to lift San Francisco to a 24-20 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 49ers turned the ball over five times in that football game and started the season 3-0 for the first time in 21 years.

Garoppolo has 739 yards passing through three games with five touchdowns and four interceptions.

The Browns, on the other hand, have had quite the roller-coaster ride to their season so far.

It started with a 43-13 beatdown at home against the Tennessee Titans in Week 1, then it was followed with a 23-3 win over the Jets in New York, a home loss to the Los Angeles Rams and last week, the Browns cruised to a 40-25 victory over AFC North rival Baltimore.

In the game against the Ravens, quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 342 yards and one touchdown and running back Nick Chubb delivered 185 yards and three scores on 18 carries in the win. Jarvis Landry contributed eight receptions for 167 yards to lead all wide receivers.

Both the 49ers and Browns were the bottom two teams in the NFL over the last four seasons, with Cleveland winning only 11 games in that span and San Francisco coming away with only 17 wins.

Browns Fantasy Star

Baker Mayfield, QB

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has so many weapons to work with.

You have second-year running back Nick Chubb, along with wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr., and tight end Ricky Seals-Jones, who had three catches for 82 yards and one score last week against the Ravens.

With all of that said, there is absolutely no excuse for Mayfield to not succeed.

Through four games, however, Mayfield certainly hasn’t lived up to the No. 1 overall pick of the NFL Draft last year. He has 1,147 passing yards, to go along with four touchdowns and six interceptions, all while completing only 59 per cent of his passes.

If the Browns are going to go anywhere this season, they need Mayfield to step up.

I believe the second-year quarterback from Oklahoma will take a big leap in this game and put together a three-touchdown performance against the 49ers.

49ers Fantasy Star

George Kittle, TE

Believe it or not, but 49ers tight end George Kittle has yet to score a touchdown this season.

I strongly believe the touchdowns will eventually come, but in the meantime he still leads the team in targets (21), receptions (17) and receiving yards (165).

Kittle is one of the best tight ends in all of football, and it’s easy to forget about him with the emergence of other tight ends, including Darren Waller of the Oakland Raiders or Evan Engram of the New York Giants.

However, with all of that said, I do expect him to finally get on the board with a score on Monday Night Football.
